Go to the String Translation screen. Near the bottom-right, you’ll see a box that lets you select which user-types to include in the String Translation.

Hi,
as it seems the author information (bio) is not translateable through string translation when used in a multi-site install?
The description text does not appear in string translation at all… (nor do any other author fields)

Any suggestions?

Please use an FTP program. Go to wordpress/plugins and replace WPML 2.3.1. You can upload WPML 2.3.0 on top of 2.3.1.

We identified the problem and are fixing it right now. You should have a new version very soon.

Same here - really tough as I cannot get into the site backend to deactivate anything. Fixes for the same error in other circumstances did, unsurprisingly, not work for this. It would be great if you came out with a quick solution!

It’s not exactly synchronize, because it only works one way, from the default language to translations. Synchronize would imply that it works both ways.

Hmm, I don’t see a sync option for my custom fields. Is it the new behavior for the same ‘Copy from original to translation’ option? If so, then I would suggest renaming it to Synchronize.

Have been waiting so much for custom fields syncing.. cannot wait to use the new version! I am also happy you noticed how annoying was the admin language switcher behavior.

Thanks for testing this beta. I’m very glad to hear that things are working well for you. Since this release, we have only found a small number of issues and it seems that we’re close to the final release.

I don’t want to switch the admin language always, when switching the content language. The reason we put it there is to help Admins locate content in other languages. It’s a bit difficult to work when the GUI languages keeps switching. I tried it and it’s just counter-helpful.

I have just tested it, and everything seemed okay now, especially the “Smarter Admin Language Switcher” now it works perfectly.

I like this “Admin Locale Switches When Translating” feature. I have tested and it works fine, too.

Amir and Mihai… thank you so much for your wonderful work!

Only one suggestion: Do you think it will more make sense when user switch the language from admin language switcher then all text in admin panel will be automatically adjusted to the selected language too, even user is not in the translation editor page at the moment? I think it would be better if the answer is yes. Thoughts?
