does WMPL support custom post types? I have an old version and would upgrade to the paid version if it does.

    Thanks in advance,

    Hi,

I run my website wird wordpress, wp e-commerce (http://getshopped.org) and the ebussines theme developed by Elegantthemes (http://www.elegantthemes.com/).

I’d like to implement WPML this year. Do you see any problems or challenges to do that for my website?

    Thanks for you answer.

    Serge

    • Amir sagt:

There are currently some problems between WPML and WP E-Commerce. We’re trying to work on them with the GetShopped people, but I don’t know how this will go. Right now, WPML works very nicely with WooCommerce and MarketPress.

  3. Michael sagt:

Is the offered packed per blog or per developper… I run currently 5 blogs. Does this mean I have to buy a version per blog? If so do you offer a multiple blog version..?

    • Amir sagt:

You can use WPML to create as many sites as you like. We don’t limit you on the number of sites that you build with WPML.

  4. For the internationale NGO nph deutschland e.V. we are running a wordpress-blog at http://www.blog-mygoodshop.org. We are using it together with MyGoodShop for getting donations for children in our orphanges in Latin America.
Your plugin-in would be very helpfull for publishing our content in different languages.

My question: is there a free-version avaible for a non-profit-organisation?

More informations about NPH (Nuestros Pequenos Hermanos) you can find on our international website http://www.nph.org or please send me a direct email.

    Thanks for your help!

    Hi there,

I have a website with a blog and a shop integrated. I’m not quite sure, is WPML the solution when I need my page in german and english and the customer can choose his language when he lands on the page, e.g. with flag-buttons at the top of the page?

    thanks

    Hi developer,
as I understood, you translate with a build-in-service!
can I manually take over this service.
I don’t want to have a machine translation.

  9. Benedikt K sagt:

    Hi!
Im not sure which version of wpml to use:
I want to make a Website using WP with three languages.
The Frontend should be fully translated.
I have all text translated already.
The website should be SEO friendly (I like to use the SEO Plugin http://yoast.com/wordpress/seo/ and the Cache Plugin Cachify)
Wich version of wpml do i need?
    Regards
    Benedikt

    • Amir sagt:

Most people eventually buy our Multilingual CMS version. It includes all of WPML’s functionality. If your site includes widgets and other non-post texts, you will probably need the String Translation module, which comes with the CMS package.

  10. Thomas sagt:

    Hello,

I’m an Austrian organization with a EU VAT ID (UID) and I’d need a VAT-free invoice.
    How can we get there.

    Thanks

    • Amir sagt:

After you buy WPML, you will be able to enter you company details and receive a fully personalized invoice. It includes all the information that you enter about yourself as well as our company tax information.

      • Thomas sagt:

Ok, is VAT therefore, included, or Not?

        • Amir sagt:

Yes, the price includes VAT. There’s no additional payment besides what you see on our site.

          • Thomas sagt:

VAT – but not for a EU company, right?

            • Amir sagt:

We are a US company and you are from the EU, so there is no VAT for you. You only need to add VAT when you pay other EU companies. A good part of our sales come from the EU and I can say with certainly that this is how it works.

After you complete your payment, you will receive a tax invoice. It includes all the tax information that your accountant will need.

              • Thomas sagt:

So, there is no VAT included? And no US sales tax?

                • Amir sagt:

No. There is no VAT. You don’t need to add VAT and we’re not going to charge it. There’s also no US sales tax. Sales tax and VAT only apply when you buy and sell from the same region. We are in different regions.

  11. Thomas sagt:

OK, everything clear now, your reply caused a little irritation.

  12. Georg sagt:

Our website runs on typo3 with wordpress smartly integrated. I want the language switch only from typo and no additional language options from wordpress.

Can I replace the WPML language switch by our own?
Can I address the different languages via URL?

    • Amir sagt:

If your website runs Typo3 and not WordPress, how are you going to use WPML?

    • Georg sagt:

We run both on different servers. With the common layout you can switch between them without getting notice of switching between different programs.

We have in this layout a language switch and don’t want any second one. Therefor the questions:

Can I replace the WPML language switch by our own?
Can I address the different languages via URL?

  13. Gerd sagt:

    Hallo,

ich bin mir unsicher für welche Version, Blog oder CMS, ich mich entscheiden soll. Gibt es die Möglichkeit später von der Blog auf die CMS Version upzugraden? Wenn ja, was kostet solch ein Upgrade?

    • Amir sagt:

Ja. Sie können später upgraden und zahlen nur die Differenz.

Yes. You can upgrade later and pay only the difference.

  14. Michael sagt:

      Laden Sie neue Versionen
      Sie erhalten technischen Support

WPML nicht brauchen, um unsere Server zu kontaktieren, um korrekt zu arbeiten.

Ich hoffe, dass dies, was Sie fragen sollen.

The only things that we will need from our server is:
      Download new versions
      Receive technical support

WPML doesn’t need to contact our server to work correctly.

I hope that this is what you intended to ask.

    • Michael sagt:

Yepp, that was the Question. Sorry i wrote German, didn’t realize that i should adress you in English.

      Okay, that’s great. You’ve a new customer.

      cheers

Sorry, but I’m not familiar with that theme. Want to get the author to contact us? We can check this together.

  18. Hi,
    two questions:
    1. what about the hreflang tag, fully supported? http://support.google.com/webmasters/bin/answer.py?hl=en&hlrm=de&answer=189077

    2. it is possible to manage each language as a subdomain like es.domain.com, it.domain.com?

    Thanks!

    • Amir sagt:

      1. As of WPML 2.5.1, WPML outputs the hreflang attributes in the language switcher. This tells Google the language of translations that we’re linking to. We recently learned that we should also include there links in the page header. This will be added to the next release.

      2. Yes. You can put different languages in different sub-domains, or in completely different domains too. Have a look here for how to configure it on your server:
      http://wpml.org/faq/server-setting-for-languages-in-different-domains/

  19. hi,

i’d like to know if wpml ist compatible with my theme (LeGourmet 1.2 von DeMagician).

I’d like to translate all texts that are created by myself (news, menu card, menu sections, slogans, etc.) and the theme-texts/plugin-texts that appear on the site – eg weiterlesen/read more the “submit”-button…not the backend. do i need cms or blog-version?

    thanks, hannes

    • is it possible to get any answer???? if your support is working the same way – good night….

      hannes

    • Amir sagt:

Sorry, I missed your original question.

We don’t know, as we haven’t tested WPML with that theme. We can work with the theme author and test together. If he’s interested, send him here:
      http://wpml.org/documentation/theme-compatibility/go-global-program/

We really want to work with every theme author, and we have the resources for that, but we need their cooperation. If the theme author is interested, we can review everything together and iron-out and issues that we find.

      • thanks for your quick response. and what about my second quenstion?

I’d like to translate all texts that are created by myself (news, menu card, menu sections, slogans, etc.) and the theme-texts/plugin-texts that appear on the site – eg weiterlesen/read more the “submit”-button… not the backend. do i need cms or blog-version?

  20. Kurt sagt:

    Hello,

Im not really into programming and using wordpress. Therfore i have a few questions:

did i get it right, that if i install wpml, i can have two languages in one site and i’ll be able to translate the menues, the content and everything else individually and by my self?

And how is it with the flag of the nationality. Will it appear automatically on the top right or wherever?

My second and important question is, can i use it with the following theme?

    http://www.templatemonster.com/wordpress-themes/37734.html

I hope you can answer my questions. Thank you for the quick reply.

    Kind regards
    Kurt

    • Amir sagt:

      1. Yes. WPML lets you translate content, menus, interface strings and anything else in your site.

      2. WPML’s language switcher can include the name of the language and a flag. You can select the flag for different languages (as some languages are spoken in different countries). WPML has browser language detection, which can do this automatically for your visitors.

      3. I’m not familiar with that theme. Most themes work fine with WPML. We can test it together with the theme author. Want to refer the theme author here?

    Hi,

what are the real Minimum Requirements?

There are differentMinimum Requirements on this 2 Pages (German / English)

    http://wpml.org/de/startseite/minimale-anforderungen/
    http://wpml.org/home/minimum-requirements/

    German Page: WordPress 2.6
English Page: WordPress 3.0 or later

    German Page: PHP5
    English Page:PHP 5.2.4

    German Page: No Comment ^^°
English Page: With memory limit of at least 64Mb

German Page: Dass Sie Tabellen in Ihrer Datenbank erstellen können
    English Page: MySQL 5.0.5

    German Page: JavaScript aktiviert (activated)
    English Page: No Comment^^°

    • Amir sagt:

Sorry about that. The German translation is out of date. I’ll get it updated. The English page reflects true minimal requirements.

  22. Pit sagt:

Can you tell me, if WPML is compatible with ProPhotoBlog 4 theme?

    Thank you

    • Amir sagt:

Sorry, but I’m not sure. We started some work with ProPhoto authors but they vanished on us. We’re very happy to continue on that. As their client, can you see if they’re interested in doing this review work with us?

  23. Markus sagt:

I understand that WPML Blog does not feature translation management. Does that mean that we can’t create users with a “Translator” role assigned? But there can still be multiple users translating the content, right? How do the users get notified, that there are is new content awaiting to be translated?

We just need posts to be localized in our project, so most of the advanced CMS features are not required for us. Moreover, we only have only a few people who translate the content, so translation management by just sending them an e-mail may be sufficient.

I just want to be sure that without translation management we still can control, which content is readily translated and can be displayed to end-users.

    • Amir sagt:

That’s correct. For translation management features, you will need to get the CMS version.

You can create as many WordPress users as you want, and they can all access translations, but not use WPML’s features for managing translations.

WPML’s Translation Management module includes the notification logic, reporting and tracking for translation status.

I’m a paying customer of WP-Views. Is there a discount on WPML?
    Thank you!

    • Amir sagt:

Sorry, there’s no cross discount between WPML and Views. I hope that you will enjoy knowing that we put a huge amount of work on complete compatibility between all our products. This means that anything you create in Types and Views is fully translatable by WPML. I hope that this is more valuable than a small Dollar discount.
