Affiliate Program
WPML’s affiliate program lets web developers earn 30% commission on professional translation work.
Program highlights:
- Passive income – the entire process is automated, without any manual work.
- No time limit – you get paid for as long as the client keeps translating with us.
- Transparent – your pay comes out of our commission without loading anything extra on the end-client.
An affiliate account is free and takes a minute to set up.
After you sign up, log in to your ICanLocalize account, click on the Affiliate tab and get your affiliate ID and key. Copy two lines of PHP code, containing your affiliate ID and key and paste them into the theme. The best place to place them is in the functions.php file.
You’re done. Any translation work that goes through this site is now credited towards your account.
Four Tips for being a successful affiliate
Many web developers use ICanLocalize as their translation provider of choice. We help deliver better projects, faster and on tight budgets.
Here are some tips for creating healthy long-lasting relationships, where you and your clients get the most value.
1. Start early
When you get the project, your clients already start building and translating content.
Let them know about the translation options from WPML. You’ll be saving them a lot of money and time.
Getting translation from without WPML reduces the work to zero. Your client doesn’t need to send dozens of Word documents to translation and you don’t need to feed them in to WordPress.
Additionally, because WPML’s professional translation opens your project to huge competition, costs are sure to go down. Your client will appreciate your help and we all come our winning.
2. Get your clients involved in the translation
It’s critically important to be transparent and open about the translation. Let your clients know that you’re using ICanLocalize for the translation and get them involved in the process.
Your clients should communicate with the translators, choose the ones they like best and review the translations early. This way, they keep the translators on the right track, making sure that the writing style and terminology is correct.
3. Don’t (ever) skip QA
Do you deliver unchecked work to your client? Probably not – and you shouldn’t deliver unchecked translation work too.
There are two approaches to proofreading and polishing translation. Either, your client has in-house reviewers who want to do this or you can get proofreaders from ICanLocalize.
If your client has local staff who wants to review the translation, that’s great! Encourage your client to review the work as it comes in and provide feedback to the translators.
Otherwise, enable the proofreading option in ICanLocalize. Proofreading costs an additional 50% of the translation work and is worth every penny.
4. Let us handle problems
We’re a translation service. It’s our work and what we do best.
When there’s a problem, make sure we know about it early. Our goal is to keep your end-client happy and we go out of our way to do this.
We know how to deal with problems of all kinds. If your client is extra happy, that’s great. Anything less than this, should go to us. We’ll handle it right away and restore peace and harmony to the project.
