WPML's standard language switcher can be added as widget to the sidebar. As of WPML 1.5.0, you can customize it via WPML's GUI - WPML->Languages.

In WPML, click on 'Advanced'. This will allow you to customize the language switcher. One of its options is to use country flags.

You can also create a custom language switcher with just flag and without the drop-down CSS effect:

Thanks for the suggestions. Can you please post this in the tech discussion section of the forum? This would also allow you to enter the code segments that you tried to paste here and WordPress removed.

Just thought I'd post these few things in terms of navigation customization.

I need relatively high level of menu customization for some of my navs and while this plugin is great it's very hard to target specific parent li(s) w/o the id or class attributes consistently being set. Which if you're using a images for your nav, id or class is needed so you can move the sprite around (or whatever image method people use).

I had to edit the core file to get it to output what I need since I couldn't nicely hook into the function. Which I hate doing cause when you update your plug-in mine get's outdated. So I wanted to propose that you include the page slug as the id of AT LEAST the parent li so your output would look something like:

I'd also propose that you remove the

as that should be a completely optional piece of markup, especially since it appears after the wrapping div anyone could just as easily do

My last suggestion, would be to provide an option to disable the plugins CSS output. I just deregistered the styles in my functions.php, but it may be beneficial for other people to have GUI version if they don't know their way around WP.

Thanks for the plug-in, it works amazingly.

I'm relatively new to WPML but am enjoying working with the navigation functionality. I just have a few questions:

1. Is it possible to reorder/specify an order to the Sections?
2. Is it possible to make the section titles have a hyperlink?
3. Is it possible to add a third-level drop down?

Thanks in advance.

Hello,

My top level navigation needs to be image-based, not text-based. (Dropdown menus will be text.) Is this possible with this plugin? I'm somewhat comfortable with CSS.

Thank you,

Laura S.

WPML cannot do this right now, but it's on our todo list.

We'll post a message about it when it's ready. If you like to get notified, you can add yourself to our mailing list.
