I went back to importer a couple of times, finally it finished.
Added code to .htaccess.

Now all Hebrew posts are gone!

When I went to WPML > Languages, it only showed English!

Added Hebrew … where are my posts???

Hello ZE'EV,

Sorry to hear about all this trouble!
Before the import did you create a backup of your websites database?

Yes I made a backup. I emailed it to Amir a few hours ago.

I just started from scratch … new host, new wp install. Imported DB, installed importer & WPML.

It went much faster, it said "importing en and he" … but then I had to manually add Hebrew.

Now none of the main menu items or categories have been imported.

I also do not see any of my hebrew posts unless I de-activate WPML, nor tags, nor categories.

Hello Zeev,

qTranslate problems are rather difficult for us supporters to manage.
This following procedure has proven so far as the best:

1) Restore everything the way it was before the import
2) Provide us with credentials for your website
3) We add some special code for error tracking/logging on your site
4) We restart the import again
5) The error_logs then (hopefully) provide us then with more hints what interferes

If that also gives us no specific hints we still can test things here, with the DB file you've sent to Amir. But usually its best to test it directly on your site.

Should we do like that?

How do I send you the credentials? Need your email

Good – I've sent you our standard email for credentials.
You can use it to transmit your credentials to us. Thanks in advance!

Hello Ze'ev,

Very sorry for the delay! Thanks for the credentials.

I'm now on your site and I have added some code (in wp-config.php – lines 144-46) to track any hidden errors.
I'd like to restart the import again but before the languages of WPML need to be determined.

Could you go to "WPML > Lanaguages", conclude the wizard and let me know once done?
I will then proceed.

Should I import the backup first? Right now all the posts have been split into separate posts by language.
Should I go back to the original qtranslate combined language database?

EDIT: never mind, i was looking at the old host.

ZE'EV

It says "Before adding other languages, please select the language existing contents are written in:"
And I have to pick one language. Do I choose English?
The posts are in 2 languages.

ZE'EV

I chose English, then added Hebrew.
Then ran the importer again.
Now all Hebrew content is GONE. No posts, no categories, no Pages.
Site shows only "English" in selector.

This is pretty lame, and the response time from support for a PAID product is pretty lame.

Hi Ze'ev, can you please send me your db backup so I can test the import locally and have a closer look?
My email address is mihai@wpml.org

I got your email Ze'ev. Thanks for that.
I was also able to fix the bug and I've sent you a new version of the plugin (in reply to your email) that solves the problem.
You need to run the import process again on the original database.

let me know if you see any issues still.
