  1. Hello. I’m revamping this site “http://mastercool.com/” to this “http://mastercool.com/revamp/products/r134a-digital-manifold/”. You’ll notice the International products section in the top nav in the current site (http://mastercool.com/). In the new site, I would like to utilize the WPML plugin. I’d like to know if I can pick and choose which pages should be translated? Also, the plugin doesn’t automatically translate the content for you correct? I would need to translate myself?

    • 1. You can choose what parts of the site you want to translate. Some people translate everything and some people translate only part of the site. WPML will only show translated content for each language.

      2. Right, WPML doesn’t automatically translate your content. It allows you to run a WordPress site with content in several languages. You can translate yourself or send content for off-site translators.

  2. Hi,

Three hours ago I’ve purchased the plugin and payed with PayPal/CreditCard. I’m still waiting for my login to download the plugin. How long will it take?

    Chris

    • Your account seems to be fine. I just reset and resent your login details and I got a confirmation that the email is delivered. If you don’t see it, please have a look at your SPAM folder, as it might be hiding there. If you still cannot find the new-account email from us, add another comment here and I will reset it again and send from my personal email.

  3. Hi there!

What`s happen to your pay system? There is something wrong. I have tried to purchase Multilingual CMS several times. I tried to pay with PayPal and with 3 different Visa cardsq but there is always the same massage “Do not honor”.

    Can u help me, please?

    • Hi Stanislava,
thank you for notifying us. We are on our way to check it out. I will reply you as soon as I know something.

    • Hi Stanislava, hi again.
We do our payment processing via PayPal and 2checkout. We don’t process credit cards manually. It looks like PayPal rejected your credit card. They have their own algorithms for fraud detection and they are usually accurate.

If PayPal mistakenly blocked a legitimate payment, you can try buying via 2checkout. We can see that other customers could buy their licenses yestarday so it works.

  4. Hi

    We have the following requirement.

We need to be able to set up a woocommerce store and process payments in GBP(£) & USD($), for this we need to use two payment gateways both supplied by authorize.net

    1. Authorize.net UK – which pays into UK bank account
    2. Authorize.net US – which pays into US bank account

We also need to be able to adjust shipping and tax dependant on which currency is used.

All products will be available in both countries as we will hold stock in both the US and UK, we just want to set it so that US customers pay in $ and get the correct and relevant US sales tax and delivery fee added, then the same for UK and rest of the world.

Does your system allow us to do this?

    Thanks

    Stuart

    • Hi Stuart,
WooCommerce Multilingual plugin supports diffrent currencies. But let me double check your specific case with our developers. I will keep you posted.

    • Hi Stuart, hi again.
I consulted your questions with people responisible for WooCommerce Multilingual plugin and here’s the answer to your question:

It seems that there are some different things here:

1- With WCML you can only specify different currencies for each languages. We used to use currency-per-country, but we’re not supporting it anymore.

1- We’ve released “WooCommerce Gateways Country Limiter” plugin that let users choose the enabled payment gateways for each country. With this, he could enable different Authorize.net gateways for UK and US.

2- We don’t support different shipping costs or taxes per each currency. The only way to do something similar would be to set different shipping rates per country (he can use any plugin like “table rates shipping”) and use default WooCommerce tax options to also set different taxes per country.

Using this settings, he could set up a site with two currencies (both enabled in all countries) and set different gateways, taxes and shipping costs for each country. This way the UK users will checkout with UK taxes, shipping rates with UK Authorize.net gateway and using his desired currency (USD or GBP). And the same (with different gateway, taxes and shipping costs) for US users.

      Hope, this helps.

  5. Hello,

The foundation that I work for Tallinn Creative Hub http://www.kultuurikatel.ee is attached to the city of Tallinn, Estonia. For one of our department we would like to integrate for our website http://www.kultuurikatel.ee/makerlab the WPML plugin.

For that I would like to know if it is possible to pay by invoice and that the payment period is at least 21 days? It is for both solutions year payment and buying WPML.
It is due to the fact that we are attached to the financial system of the city.

    Regards,

    Mihkel Salm

    • Hello,
I see your point but unfortunately we cannot afford for making exceptions and any manual processing. There is a possibility to get a free license for free for non-profit organizations but since the huge manual work the queue is pretty long and sometimes it takes several day (or more) day to be accepted.

You can always purchase the WPML license privately and then invoice your customer for your service. WPML license allows you to use WPML plugin for all the sites you are building, even if they belong to different customers.

I hope it helps, with best regards

      Agnes

  6. Hi WPML,

I submitted a request for a non-profit license a few days ago but has not heard from anybody. Is there a specific contact that I need to reach to?

Thank you so much for your kind time.

    Best Regards,

    • Hi,
thank you for your submittion. The queue of non-profit organization requests is pretty long and since we have to verify each request manually it takes time. I will double check your case with our people responsible for this but I’m sure everything is fine and you just need to wait “a while”.

  7. Hey,

I just orderd and payed. But I had misspelled my email adress. So I have no user and Password.

    Please help me.

  8. Hi,
I purshased yesterday (10/07/2014) the basic plugin version, I can see the paypal debit on my bank account, but I did not receive any e-mail neither from Paypal or you.
I can send you the reference that I have.
    Thank you in advance,
    Regards,

    • Hi,
did you use the same email as in this comment? If so, we will check it out. Please also check you spam folder.

  9. I have a WordPress site using the Themify Builder Basic Theme. Will this plugin allow for translation inside the custom widgets that this theme offers? That’s all I need to know to purchase this translation plugin…

    • Hi David,
      If you mean this theme:
      http://themify.me/themes/basic
there is an information at that site that says that Themify themese are compatible with WPML. You also shoudln’t bother about widgets compatibility. The rules for translation widgets are as follow:
      – all WordPress default widgets will appear in WPML String translation panel (you should install a separate plugin for this, it’s included in WPML CMS package)
      – custom widgets coded correctly (apply_filters used by theme authors for widget_title and widget_text) will appear in String translation panel automatically
      – use “Widget Logic” plugin (it’s free in WP repository) for all other cases

  10. Hi, I dont see any list of those 40 languages supported by WPML on your website.

    Is this a secret?

Please let me know if you also support Slovak (SK, or SLK) language.
Please bear in mind it differs from the Slovenian language (different country).

Also I noticed somewhere in your video you have “Slavic” as your supported language – please note that “Slavic” is not a language , Slavic = umbrela term for citizens of many countries as well as their languages, e.g. Slovak, Czech, Russian, Slovenian, etc.

And so, please let me know soon if you support SLOVAK (SK, SLK) language, since I am interested in buying your plugin.

If you do not support it, is there a way of traslating an English WordPress website to German and SLOVAK with your plugin? – for instance, can I add a new supported language to your plugin , and then just translate all manually?

    Thanks

    • Hi,
of course this is not a secrect 🙂
Yes, WPML supports Slovak. I personally attended WordCamp Bratislavia this year and met a lot of people there who use WPML.

What is important to understand: WPML doesn’t translate your post/pages automatically. It provides a way to create and store your posts and other content in diffrent languages but the translations have to be provided and inserted and manually by you. There is aslo an option to send your content to our professional translation service (directly from WordPress) but this is a separate issue.

      • Hi, thanks a heap for quick response!

Glad to hear that you were in Bratislava personally, and that your software supports my language.

OK, I understand the concept of your plugin.

No need to hire a pro translator – I used to be one myself 🙂

        Have a superb day!

        Mark

    • Hello,
I’m not sure if I can understand your question. If you are a developer you can use Multilingual Blog package as well but the functionality is limited. You can use it for your personal blogs or the blogs you are building for your customers.

    • Yes, it is also possible to choose a different language for your back-end, independently from your default language.

  11. Hi I want to purchase the one just for blogs – but later on I want the one with ecommerce support- do you think I can later upgrade to the Multilingual CMS?

    • Hi Kaz,
Yes, you can start with blog license and then, if you need you can upgrade it to CMS version only paying the difference. You can use one license for all the sites you are building.

  12. Hi,
I would like to know if it is possible to run WPML on two different websites, or do I need to buy it twice to run on both?

    Margriet

  13. Hi,
If I purchase the Multilingual CMS licence can I then use it with multiple websites or do I need one licence per client?

  14. Hello,
I’ve purchased your WPML license but I need to add my company billing infos (company name, VAT, etc..)

    How can I do this?

  15. I am considering purchasing the CMS version of WPML for the website listed here, but I have some questions for you to make sure it is the right fit for the project.
The client is a global marketing company with many offices around the globe. The project is complex and the client has a fairly large list of required features, some of which I am not sure WPML has the capability to fulfill on its own.
The current version of the company website is run on a sub-directory based WP Multisite install, where any global office can host their own separate site using the theme we have created for them. All of the sub-sites are based off of the US content and page structure.

We are getting ready to release a new version of the site for them and the requirements in question are:
    > “hreflang” header tags for SEO
    > a new domain structure that includes country as well as language e.g. resolutionmedia.com/us/en/
    > the ability for sub sites (countries) to deviate from the original US content, either to not include pages/content from the main US site in their country site or to be able to add new pages/content not included in the main US site.
    > countries to have the option of multiple languages within the country and the ability to display a language toggle e.g. resolutionmedia.com/fr/en/ and resolutionmedia.com/fr/fr/
    > regional websites e.g. resolutionmedia.com/asia/en-142/

Beyond these requirements I am not sure of how content translation would work with such a large group of translators, and want to be sure no one with access to edit the site outside the US would be able to change US content. I want to know a bit more about the permissions handling involved with the plugin.

I realize this may not all be clear from this post, and was hoping I could speak with someone on the phone. Would this be possible?

    • You can do something very similar to this with WPML. Instead of /us/en/ and /us/es/, you can do /us-en/ and /us-es/. WPML checks for a single value for the language and not a combination of several URL parts.

Besides this, you can implement everything that you are describing with WPML.

Translations will have a hreflang argument linking them.

You can have the exact same content (linking to the original as canonical). You can edit that content to make it different and also remove it completely.

What else do you need to know?

      • Hi Amir,

Thanks for getting back to me. The only the question I have is could translators create new content for different languages that does not exist within the main site being translated? Also, can they customize things like navigation menus?

        • Hi Michael,
          let me answer your questions.

Yes, with WPML you can create new content for different languages even if the equivalent page/post does not exist within the main site language.

I’m not sure what kind of customization you have in mind.
WPML gives you the option to synchronize the menu for different languages automatically but you can always control it also manually if you prefer.
If you ask about customization of your language switcher, you also have lots of possibilities here:
          http://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/language-setup/custom-language-switcher/

  16. Hi,

I am in the process of developing a new site. Its not live yet so only the default will be shown on the url listed above. My question is to make sure I understand how to use the WPML plugin if I purchase it for this project. I am confused whether the plugin will translate the site automatically when a user chooses their language from the widget? If yes, once the plugin is installed, is it simple to choose which languages you want available? Also, will it translate everything automatically or it necessary to specify what is translated – if you need to specify, how – per page, plugin, post, etc?

The site actually has about 7 different directories with independent wordpress installs so this plugin would need to be installed on most of them independently. So I am concerned about the amount of work required to set up each one unless this is as automatic as possible.

Your comments would be greatly appreciated.

    Regards,
    Barry

    • Hi Barry,
      thank you for your question.
WPML doesn’t translate your post/pages automatically. It provides an interface for creating and storing your posts and other content in diffrent languages but the translations have to be provided and inserted and manually by you. There is also an option to send your content to our professional translation service (directly from WordPress and to receive directly into WordPress).

Translations done by human will be always appreciated by search engines and this way your site will get better index rates and attract more customers.

this plugin would need to be installed on most of them independently.

You can use one WPML license for all your sites.

      • Hi Agnes,

Thanks for getting back to me. I’m still a bit confused how this works. If for example I want to translate my home page (standard would be English) into Spanish, Russian and Italian. Does the WPML plugin actually translate from English to those languages, once I specify which page/content and which languages I want using the plugin interface?

You also wrote “There is also an option to send your content to our professional translation service (directly from WordPress and to receive directly into WordPress”. How does this work? Is there a fee for this?

        Thanks,
        Barry

        • Hi Barry, good you keep asking your questions. It’s important to understand what WPML offers.

Does the WPML plugin actually translate from English to those languages, once I specify which page/content and which languages I want using the plugin interface?

No, it doesn’t. You have to insert your translated texts manually. So you should translate them yourself (if you know the foregin languages) or ask professional translators.
Or you can ask our professionals translators to do the job for you and in this case the translation will be provided directly into your WordPress.

          How does this work?

Please go to this site and watch this video: http://www.icanlocalize.com/site/services/wordpress-translation/

Is there a fee for this?

Yes, it depends on the number of words speaking very roughly. For more details about professional translations I encourage you to visit the link above. ICanLocalize service is also ours and it fully integrated with WPML.

  17. Hi,

I purchased by 2Checkoutl/CreditCard two hours ago and didn’t get my login. How long will it take?

    Jaakko

  18. I am planning to purchase the WPML. Once i’ll have paid it and downloaded it into my account, will our WP webmaster able to access it?

    • Hi Dany,
yes, you can acess your WPML account, downlaod the plugin and then upload it to your WordPress and install, like you do with any othe WordPress plugins. You can also use the automated installation feature. Booth approaches are described here:
      http://wpml.org/faq/install-wpml/

  19. Hello,
I would like to know what “account renewal” means. If I buy the multilingual cms and pay for it 79 dollars, I have to pay every year 39 dollars? Or I will pay only if I want to add more languages?

    • Hello,
your first opion is correct. But you can also consider buying lifetime license and then you pay only one. If you choose renewal option (paid each year) you also will be able to upgrade to lifetime license later by paying only the difference. So you don’t have to decide now and start with this renewal option.

With your renewal option you don’t have to extend your license after the first year. Even if you don’t pay for the next year, you can still use WPML but you won’t have access to new versions and support then.

  20. Hi
If our school purchased the Multilingual CMS at 79 USD and where happy with the product, what would be the upgrade cost to Multilingual CMS Lifetime at USD 195?

    Regards
    Michael

  21. How can I upgrade from Blog to CMS? I only see the option to purchase the CMS version for the full price.
    Thanks
