    • Hello,
Is the ‘Property Portal’ a new of your theme? If so, can you send me a link to its page?

Generally speaking every theme that uses WordPress API runs multilingual with WPML.
You will be able to translate your posts, pages, categories, tags, menus, images, custom posts and taxonomies, even custom fields irrespective of a theme chosen.
But currently the themes offered in the WP marker are more and more sophisticated and offer more and more custom options. These to be translated require the presence of so called wpml config file. Some developers can create this file themselves, while for others it is a challenge. This is why we ask theme authors for their help here. When a theme author provides his/her theme with such a file your works is easy – all the theme depended strings will appear in our String translation module.

If this the case, you will find this theme in our compatibility list:
      http://wpml.org/documentation/theme-compatibility/

What should work without any problems even if your theme is not announced as WPML fully compatible. You will still be able to translate:
posts, pages, menus, tags, categories, custom post types, custom fields, taxonomies, different strings etc.

  1. Hi,

I was wondering if i can show different
content depending on the language setting
All the while using the same domain name “domain.com”

    Example:
    English site shows content: ABC
    Korean site shows content: QWE

Dont want to translate posts, but rather show different content per language.

English users would only see the English menus+posts.
and Korean users only Korean menu+posts.

    Regards

    • Hi,

“Dont want to translate posts, but rather show different content per language.”

This is what WPML is for. WPML doesn’t translate your posts automatically but let you provide the content for each language yourself.

You don’t have to have each post/page translated. WPML allows you to have some pages/posts in English and others in Korean (they don’t have to match like 1:1).
You also have full freedom to decide what to include in a menu for each language.

  2. Hello,
I make websites for my customers and many of them are multilingual. So far, I have solved this problem with another WordPress installation on a sub-domain, but it’s not really comfortable.
I would like to ask you, if I have many multilingual sites, do I have to buy WPML plugin for each site or can I use it for all of them? Thank you

  3. Hello i’m interested in buying WPML MULITILINGUAL CMS package for 1 year to test it and then if I will be satisfied I will buy the LIFETIME package. What is the price to upgrade from MULTILINGUAL CMS to the LIFETIME PACKAGE?

    • Hi, if you upgrade within 30 days before your CMS subscription expires, you will pay only the diffidence (Lifetime – CMS). We will send an automatic notification 30 days before and also in your WPML account you will find a link to upgrade.

  4. Could you maybe advise.
    I’m looking at WPML subscriptions.
It is not clear to me if I get ALL the WPML plugins with a lifetime subscription or just the one?

I have a site that needs:

    – String translation
    – Media
    – Mulilingual CMS
    – Translation management

Are these ALL included in the lifetime subscription or must I purchase a separate ‘life subscription’ for each?

  5. Hi,
I website is designed by Legato Theme , I also use different plugins like woocommerce, megamenu etc, I would like to convert my website in to a Multilanguage website(English and Arabic). But my theme is not yet certified by WPML. So how can I use wpml in such scenario. I am looking to buy The complete solution for multilingual websites with WordPress . Can I get any support from wpml team to convert my theme to Multilanguage.

    • Hi Anna, our compatibility theme only works with theme authors. WPML works well with WooCommerce. If you plan your website support Arabic, please make sure that your theme support RTL as well.

  6. Hi, with the CMS multilanguages (79$) version are included in the price add on for examples WPML Media Translation, WPML String Translation WPML Translation Management, etc and support for woocommerce ?
    Thanx

  8. hello ..
English is not much use google translator …
buy the software and put in wordpress using code
to the left of each language can I get a carecter > …
    how I can fix this

    • Hello,
in general WPML can translate all elements. It means, that you will be able to translate your posts, pages, categories, menus, widgets, media and other strings as well. For this you will need the ‘CMS’ or ‘Lifetime’ subscription. You might have some issues with translating elements which are specific for a given theme only (for example some of your theme options, sometimes sliders). To translate these your theme should be WPML compatible. I cannot see your theme on our ‘themes compatible with WPML’ list:
      http://wpml.org/documentation/theme-compatibility/

  9. Dear sirs,

my name is Vasilis Theodossiou, I am a client of yours however there is no other way I can contact you that is why I am writing in here.

On previous year (around February to April) I created the website http://www.terrabonagroup.com and I bought your 1 year – license for using WPML in wordpress. Nowadays I have ended that job-project and now I have started a new job (the site is http://www.virtuoustriad.com). I cannot log-in in order to pay the fees and continue using your wonderful product because the e-mail I used the first time does no longer exists.

Can you please help me in this? I would like to continue using wpml in my new site (www.virtuoustriad.com). Please advice how can I proceed.

Thank you very much for your time. I would appreciate if you answer me to the above e-mail.

    Best Regards

    Vasilis Theodossiou

    • Dear Vasilis,
let us identify in our system. Thanks for providing us your full name. I will keep you posted.

    • Hi again,
we need to make sure you are who you say you are, I hope you understand. Since you don’t have access to the email address, its going to be hard. Can I ask you more questions?

      1. What was your old email address?
      2. Do you have any proof of purchase? that would be ideal (a transaction id or something).

In short, please provide as many details as you can so we can confirm its you.

    • Hi Brandon,
you mean to insert your language switcher inside the main navigation of your site? Yes, this is also possible but you will need to edit your header.php file to add a line of code. Our support people can help.

  10. Hi my site theme is KLEO and i need to know if it is compatible, and what to buy to have all as simple as possible translated to spanish automatically, like woocommerce, plugins and so on.
Should I need to do something manual translations?
    thank you, regards

    • Hi Sebastian,
WPML doesn’t translate your site automatically. You provide the translations or you can use our professional translator service (integrated with WPML). WPML is compatible with WooCoomerce.

WPML is compatible with this KLEO theme:
      http://wpml.org/theme/kleo/

  11. Hi, I need confirmation, some other site sell WPML CMS, here $79 / yr, but they offer $25 / yr for same product. Is it true and legal ? and will get same support and update from here ?

  12. Hi,

Is it possible to get access to a free subscription during the development phase of my website, and pay once I go public?

    Thanks,
    YA

  13. Hi, I would like to make use of the translation workflow features of WPML but unfortunately the websites I want to translate between are not built in WordPress or Drupal but in Joomla (which I know you do not support).

What I wanted to know is whether I can buy WPML, and install it on a WordPress site on a 3rd domain, let’s say http://www.my-translation-management-backend.com and then pay a developer to edit some of the code in WPML so that the content is extracted from the MySQL database of the 1st Joomla site, then imported into WPML, then exported into the MySQL database of the other Joomla site?

My question is basically whether this core functionality of WPML is open source and if I buy a license am I entitled to edit the code for my own private use? (I understand I cannot resell etc the resulting code of course).

    Thank you for your time.

    • Sorry but I used the wrong phrase above, when I said “open source” I did not mean open as in open source software, I wanted to know if the PHP code is encrypted or am I free to browse the code and edit it after I pay for the download please? I realise that the software is not released under an Open Source License and I reiterate that this would be for my own private project. Sorry for the confusion.

  14. hi,
i want to implement mulit currency purchasing support on my ecommerse site and found out wpml is one of the best solutions according to reviews. i was wondering if i can only purchase the support for multi-currency based on language since i dont need to translate my site (which is i think wpml offers in the package, if i am wrong, please clarify). also i am using wordpress 3.6, so is it possible to accept purchase order in multiple currency through wpml? thanks in advance

  15. Hi there,

I’ve built a client a bilingual online store (English and French) using WooCommerce and mQtranslate, but mQtranslate doesn’t really do everything we need it to do (such as translating WC headings like ‘product description’, ‘reviews’, ‘add to cart’ and so on). So, we want to migrate to WPML and I’ll be buying it tomorrow and starting work on migration 🙂

I just wondered though, what is the exact process I should follow to switch from mQt to WPML? All the product descriptions, page content, everything, has already been entered in both languages throughout the site, and the client and I are worried about losing all the translation work that’s been done so far (there are about 100 products not to mention lots of pages, so far).

Could you please advise the best practice here, to protect the French content from being lost during the migration process?

Unfortunately I can’t provide a link as the site is in maintenance mode while we work on it…

    Thanks in advance,

    Debs 🙂

    • Hi,
if the translations in your current solution are stored as regular WordPress posts/pages your customer won’t lose the translations. But you will need to match the translations with their original posts once WPML is activated and languages added. Our support experts can help you.

      • Thanks Agnes for your help 🙂

It’s mostly WooCommerce products, a few Woo features, some pages, not many posts as the site is still in development and the client hasn’t really started blogging yet.

So presumably I should just buy the plugin and then instantly put in a support ticket?

        Thanks again 🙂

        • Yes, that would be best. Or you can simply install WPML, set languages and then pick one post and try to assign it to its peer post in the other language. You will be able to do this from your single post/page edit screen. If you need to translate your WooCommerce Products, it is also possible with WPML and a plugin called WooCommerce Multilingual (created by us, it’s free).

          • Thanks Agnes.

The content is all done in both languages, nothing new to create, problem is I don’t understand French so I would find it difficult to match French products to English products without screen grabbing everything first! 🙂 Having said that, perhaps this is something the client could do herself as she’s the one that translated everything 🙂

Like I said though, mostly products, so yes I will definitely be using the WooCommerce Multilingual plugin too 🙂

Thanks for your help – will buy now and submit my support ticket 🙂

          • Hi Agnes,

I haven’t had very much success with your support team unfortunately. The replies to my questions – which take a very long time to come – have so far been very short and unhelpful. I’ve been told I need to rebuild the website! Clearly this is not an option – the website is already fully populated and live (albeit in maintenance mode) – rebuilding an entire website from scratch is not the answer I would expect, especially after spending such a lot of money to buy the plugin. I’m sorry to say I’m not very impressed 🙁

You seem to be a lot more helpful (and much faster to reply) than your post-sales support team, so perhaps you can answer this for me.

If I were to simply disable mqtranslate, then install WPML and all the associated plugins required to make it work with WooCommerce, what would happen? For example:

            – what would happen to my current WooCommerce settings? Would they be lost or saved?
            – what would happen to things like custom sidebars, widgets, custom menu etc? (custom menu currently uses mqtranslate shortcode such as English textFrench text – I’m using [:en]/[:fr] shortcodes in the widgets.
            – what would happen to custom post types, such as WooFeatures, which have already been translated? Is WPML even compatible with custom post types like these?
            – what would happen to product category titles and descriptions, which have been “bilingualised” using WooCommerce-qTML?
            – what would happen to any customisations I’ve made to the theme CSS?

If I were building a website for another client and was just about to start the build, I’m sure I wouldn’t need very much support – probably none at all. But as this is an already-built website that’s already had a ton of work done on it, I feel a little more support is needed. I’m very frustrated that to date this has not been provided 🙁

            Hope you can help.

            Thanks 🙂

            • Sorry to hear that you are having some issues.

Hi, can I have a link for your thread please?

Some translation plugins are leaving a mess in the database so sometimes it is indeed better to start anew and import/export your post than to fix it manually. This is why we created this plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/qtranslate-to-wpml-export/

I will try to help you but it would be better to handle your issue with our supporters. Please share a link to your thread with me and I will talk to relevant people to provide you with a better help.

              1. what would happen to my current WooCommerce settings? Would they be lost or saved?
They won’t be lost. They shouldn’t be affected in any way.

              2. what would happen to things like custom sidebars, widgets, custom menu etc? (custom menu currently uses mqtranslate shortcode such as English textFrench text – I’m using [:en]/[:fr] shortcodes in the widgets.
The original content of your sidebars, widgets and menu won’t change. But the best way to answer what will happen when you disable your current multilingual plugin, please deactivate it for a moment and see.

              3. what would happen to custom post types, such as WooFeatures, which have already been translated? Is WPML even compatible with custom post types like these?
The custom post types in your original language shouldn’t be affected. What happens with translation hen you disable your current multilingual language it depends on how the plugin works. It it leaves some trash, you will need to remove it manually I guess.

              4. what would happen to product category titles and descriptions, which have been “bilingualised” using WooCommerce-qTML?
Sorry I have never tested the WooCommerce-qTML. But the content in original language should remain as it was.

              5. what would happen to any customisations I’ve made to the theme CSS?
              They should remained unaffected.

              • Hi Agnes,

When you say ‘start anew’ do you mean start the whole website again from the bottom up? For example, install wordpress on a new domain, install the theme again and copy the settings from the old domain, install woocommerce again and copy the settings from the old domain, and so on? And then export the content from the old domain to the new domain?

I think this is where I’m getting confused.

Perhaps you guys mean something else when you say “rebuild from scratch” or “start anew” 🙂

  16. Hi,

We are going to release a new WordPress website for our company in the next few days and for the website we need to have multi-language so we are interested in buying your “WPLM Multilingual CMS” plugin for $79.

But before we buy we have some pre-sales question to make. I leave bellow our website information and our pre-sales questions:

    :: Our Website Information ::
Our new website is running WordPress v4.1.1, using a SSL Security Certificate, and using a commercial theme that says is compatible with your plugin.
In terms cache plugins, we are thinking on using the commercial WP Rocket plugin or maybe one of the free plugins like, WP Super Cache or W3 Total Cache.

    :: Pre Sales Questions ::

1- In terms of the translation our website is currently in Portuguese language and for now we just want to add one more language that is English. In terms of the translation process from Portuguese to English we can do manually ourselves from our end. But we have a small knowledge on how to install and setup your WPLM plugin. So if we buy your “WPLM Multilingual CMS” can your team install it and make the initial configuration on our website free of charge or do we have to pay extra?

2- Our website is hosted in a Fully Managed VPS Server running Lunix / CentOS / cPanel. So we have full support from our hosting company and they will do whatever we will ask. We want to ensure that our VPS is fully optimized to properly run WordPress with WPML. So can your team make a quick check on our server configuration ensure its 100% compatible and optimized for WPML? Anything your team advice, we will ask our hosting company to do. So can you do it free of charge or do we have to pay extra for this quick check-up?

3- WPML plugin fully works and is compatible with WordPress v4.1.1 running SSL Security Certificates (HTTPS), and a CDN network, correct?

4- Is WPML 100% compatible with the WP Rocket (wp-rocket.me) cache plugin?

6- When will WP Rocket next “big” version update happen? Do you have an expected timeframe?

    Thanks

    • Hi, thank you for your questions.

      1. “can your team install it and make the initial configuration on our website free of charge or do we have to pay extra?”
The installation is easy. Our team can help if you got stuck. The access to our support help of included in your CMS package. No need to pay extra.
      2. “So can your team make a quick check on our server configuration ensure its 100% compatible and optimized for WPML?” This is a custom support and our team cannot do this in advance. But there shouldn’t be any problems with your server. You can always consider using one of our certified consultant to do the work for you
      http://wpml.org/documentation/support/wpml-contractors/
      3. Yes.
      4. We didn’t test it.
      5. Sorry, we don’t know.

If you buy WPML and you are not satisfied you can use our refund policy and we will give your money back.

  17. Hey,

How can i have access to SUPPORT? I have WPML on my website and I need to publish an issue. But I don’t know which email was used to buy the pluggin, cause it was an PR agency who made that and now we need to do this in our own. So I can’t loggin on support. Is there any way?

    Many thanks in advance,

    Jon

    • Hi Josan, in order to get our support help you need to have a valid WPML subscription and access to your WPML account. If the agency doesn’t want to share it with you, you will need to purchase the WPML with your email address. You can use WPML plugins without the subscription but in order to get help from our supporters you need to log into your WPML account.

  18. Hi, I purchased a license today, but did not receive any emails. Can you please send me the license info? Thank you.

    • Hey Peter,
      1. Please check your spam folder or
      2. Reset your password using this link
      https://wpml.org/wp-login.php?action=lostpassword
If this doesn’t help it means that you made a typo in your email. In this case. please let us know and we will try to identify you in our system and we will change it manually. For this we will need more data (your full name and/or the order number)
