I am unable to use the Members Only forum for technical support even though I hvae purchased the WPML. It says I must be logged in to enter a new comment, even though I am logged in. Any suggestions?
Dear friends,
I want to buy the CMS or lifetime version. I have several questions:
1. If I buy the CMS can I upgrade to lifetime at anytime?
2. My site is bilingual (spanish-english) and I am planning using directories for the languages. So I asume that is my sites is a.com, languages will be in a.com/es and a.com/en. What happens when somebody types a.com in their browsers? Can it go to the appropiate language depending on the language browser (I read so in the forum), and if the language is my primary language the address will keep as a.com it will always change to a.com/es? My biggest concern is about SEO. How will google rank my site if there are two landing pages (one for each language)?
3.What is the correct order of installation: WPML -THEME or THEME -WPML?
1. Yes. You can upgrade to the Lifetime account. When you do that, you only need to pay the difference.
2. Normally, WPML puts the default language in the root URL. If your default is Spanish, it will be in a.com and the English in a.com/en/. You can also put the default language in a directory, like in your example. In that case, you can choose a WordPress page to appear in the root URL, or even update an HTML file for that path.
For SEO, you should leave the default language in the root path (WPML’s normal configuration).
3. Doesn’t matter. You can add WPML at the beginning or later.
It sounds good to left the default language at the root. Could I still program something (a script or anything) in a way that if someone with a browser in english comes to the website, that berson gets redirected to a.com/en?
The price difference between CMS and CMS lifetime is quite large. What is involved in account renewal? If I buy CMS and don’t renew does the plugin stop working? Are updates required every time WordPress is updated?
I guess the short version of my question is “Why but the lifetime plan if lifetime tech support is not needed?”
If you don’t renew your account, the plugin version that you are using will continue working normally. A valid account is needed to get new versions of WPML and access our support.
WPML doesn’t translate your content. It’s a tool that lets you have content in multiple languages in one WordPress site. You can translate yourself or send content to off-site translators.
Hi, I want to purchase the “life time wpml” but I have already an account that has expired. The only way to purchase wpml for me seams registering another mail because otherwise I enter a Loop: From my expired account (I manage to login anyway) I can’t purchase anything cause is expired.
Thanks,
Francesca
Actually, you should login to your existing (expired) account. Then, you will see a button to upgrade to a Lifetime account. When you do this, you will only need to pay the difference between the cost of a Lifetime account and what you already paid.
Hello I want to download the plugin But I can not make the payment. I have a prepaid card and I have the same issue over over again. After entering the number of the card and everything I get a message “Failed to authorize: Do Not Honor ” The card is oK. I have purchased other things via internet.
Have you any idea why is this happening.
Stavroula
I’m not sure how to resolve this. We use PayPal and 2checkout for payment processing and we are limited to the cards that they accept. Do you have a regular credit card to use? Both payment processors are very secure and you shouldn’t worry about your online privacy or security.
I found your account, with the same email you’ve used to leave this comment. I reset and resent your PW. If you’re not getting this email, please have a look in your SPAM folder. It might be hiding there.
I have the site mentioned above in Romanian. I want to translate it entirely in English – auto responders, forms, plugins, widgets, body text … everything. Can I do this with your plugin? What package do I need?
It really depends how you’ve created things. There are different plugins for creating forms. WPML works with many, but I can’t say that with all. If you like here which plugins you are using for different features, I can answer more specifically.
we are planning to purchase WMPL as an media agency. It would be nice if you could give us some information about the license. Is it allowed to use WPML for different customers (other companies) where the maintenance of their websites is part of our service or has every of our customers to buy WPML for their single website?
WPML lets you add more languages to your site, so you can certainly add English to your Persian site. The plugin that you’re mentioned seems to be fine with WPML. I’m not sure about the theme. Most themes work smoothly with WPML, but we haven’t tested this one. Would you like to invite the theme author to join our Go Global program? http://wpml.org/documentation/theme-compatibility/go-global-program/
We will work together with the theme author and verify that everything is working correctly. We do that with hundreds of theme authors.
Hi,
We are building a site that needs to be translated in 3 languages total (English, French & Chinese). The default language is English.
The site templates will be built from scratch and highly customized. I want to know what limitations, warnings and guidelines your team suggests before we start building the site and using your plugin (we plan on getting the lifetime version).
Also, what happens when a page on view for a given language has not been translated? Does it switch to the default language?
About the site’s theme, just make sure that you use the WordPress API to load content, wrap all your hard-coded strings in gettext calls and apply standard filters if you create your own widgets. WPML will allow you to translate everything, as long as you keep to the WordPress themes API.
Hello,
I contact you because I have a problem to connect to my account.
(I purchased “Multilingual CMS and string translation” approximatively one year ago)
I tried to reset my password with your login tool but it doesn’t work….
Perhaps your auto-generated password email is hiding in your SPAM box. Anyway, I changed it again and sent from my personal email. You should have it now.
Hi,
We are looking to purchase the WPML plugin.
But we have some query before purchase.
1.
We are already running Multisite environment
we have around 100 Multisite configured.
Ex: http://www.cn.example.com http://www.us.example.com
we are using PO file system for language conversion
We are looking to use WPML instead of PO file system.
But WPML is looking complex to use.
2.we just wanted to add 100 translator for our 100 language and assign a particular language to that translator from our base dashboard.
3.When translator complete the translation it must be approved by site administrator before going to live.
4.We can’t change our 100 running url(www.cn.example.com,www.us.example.com …etc)
5.We are not looking to go into each 100 child blog and do the translation for every countries .It should from one place
WPML doesn’t require using child sites for different languages. It allows you to add languages to single WordPress sites (or single sites in a network). I’m not sure how your network is configured right now. Please note that .po/.mo files are used only to localize hard-coded texts, like the theme strings. WPML lets you do much more. You can translate the actual content too and not just set the locale for texts in PHP files.
Dear Amir ,
We understand that translated content into database.
When a translator is translating the content, does he have the option to store in it a file instead of in database. The purpose of asking of question is to know process of transporting the content from staging to production server.
WPML lets you add several languages to each of the sites on the network. With WPML, you don’t need to have a site per language. If you want, you can display different languages in different domains. If you want, you can do this on a multi-site install, or on a regular WordPress install with a single site.
When user comes to the site we don’t have Language selection menu.
Language will automatic selected according url
If you click http://www.us.example.com (Automatic English)
if you click http://www.f1.example.com(French automatic)
It means we have 3 to 4 sites in English.
Our main requirement ..when translator login in to the system complete the translations for English language.
We have WPML set up on our site (due to english external website support) English was set as a default. We would like to set this to Dutch (Netherlands). If we do we get an error message
‘WordPress-vertaalbestand (.mo) ontbreekt. Huidige weergavetaal wordt behouden’
and it is set back to ‘English’.
Sure we can help you with this. Can you please post about the problem in our technical forum? If you can tell what you are doing and include a screenshot of the message, it will help our support team identify the problem.
I would like to purchase WPML Multilingual CMS, my questions please:
1. Renewal is $39 per year, if I do not renew, will WPML still functions on my current projects? Is renewal mainly for updates?
2. Is WPML compatible with twenty twelve child themes? Is there a way to check that my theme is WPML compatible before purchase?
3. After installation and activation of WPML, will my languages flags and names automatically appear at the frontpage for the user to choose their language?
1. Yes, WPML will continue working normally even if you don’t renew. You will not have access to new versions or our support if you don’t renew.
2. WPML works great with TwentyTwelve theme (and most other WordPress themes). If it’s a child theme and you followed the WordPress theme-development guidelines, you should have no problems with WPML.
3. You can easily add the language switcher to different parts of your theme. This includes a footer, widgets and menu item. Please note that WPML doesn’t translate your content automatically. It lets you translate your own content and run a multilingual site. The language switcher will show links to translations that you enter.
Our non-profit organization is interested in using the WPML, but we have a few questions before purchasing or applying for the non-profit free subscription:
1) Is there a free-trial version that we can try out on wordpress to make sure it works?
2) I searched the WPML plugin and a lot of plugins popped out, which ones should I select?
3) Will the WPML allow me to change the information in the “theme option” area to other language?
1. Sorry, but we don’t have a free trial version of WPML. We do offer refunds up to 30 days from the order.
2. You have 2 options to buy WPML – the basic ‘Blog’ package, which is normally good for simpler blog and the complete ‘Multilingual CMS’ package. The complete package is normally needed for full websites.
3. WPML lets you translate all texts that are created using the WordPress themes API. Most themes adhere to this, so you can translate everything that they produce. We see fewer and fewer themes using incorrect code.
1) How long does it take usually to process the application from the time people submit the application?
2) Can we subscribe to one year CMS first, apply for the non-profit subscription at the same time, and switch to the non-profit subscription once the process is complete?
We have a bit of a backlog with non profit requests, due to Easter vacation and our support team starting to be away. If you’re planning to apply for a non-profit application, please don’t buy WPML. This just causes a lot of work to our admins.
I’m interested to buy this plugin. I’m using it in worpdress.
For example,in Widget area, Settings – General Settings – Site Title (is site title able to use few languages? my site has 3 languages. Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, English)
Or make it simple, can WPML translate every content that use wordpress?
Yes, you can use WPML to translate everything in your site. WPML lets you translate pages, posts, custom types, fields, taxonomy, widgets, general strings (like site title), menus and more.
When you buy WPML, you get technical support for a year. Our support works 6 days per week, 19 hours per day.
does this plugin support automatic redirection if the post is not translated into some language? For example I have a new post and it’s only translated into 2 languages out of 5. What happens if it gets open in a language where it’s not translated yet?
We want it to do a 301 redirection to the English version, as that’s what most people understand.
We’re going to give it another round of testing next week and make sure that it’s working with WordPress 3.9 (which is due soon). If you have a DB with a recent qTranslate DB, I’d be happy to get it, for testing purposes.
We haven’t tested WPML with this theme, so I really can’t tell. I see that there was a pre-sales questions about this in Nitro support, but there’s no answer from the theme author.
If you buy WPML and have problems, our support people will do their best to help. As a last resort, if things are not working together, we can always refund your order.
Is it possible to have different images for different languages on the home page? For example… The 3 green boxes (solutions, fluids, rewards) that should show the French graphic as well as the other things.
This really depends on where the images are coming from. If they are part of the page content, it should be trivial. You have different pages per language. If the image is coming from a theme option, we need to check how the theme works and if this field it translatable.
If we’re looking to implement WPML on our development site before we push it live to our real site (two different WP installs), would we have to purchase two versions or will the one purchase work for both?
I am in need of Professional Human translation for my current website which was developed with wordpress CMS. I need to have someone translate and implement the site with multilanguages.
The site is currently in English and I need to provide an option for it to be viewed in Traditional Chinese.
The auto translate plugins you have are very inaccurate for this language.
Do you have any professionals in HONG KONG or that know the Traditional Chinese language well that I can hire?
We have a solution for you that I’m sure you will like. WPML lets you get professional translation via ICanLocalize – our human translation service. We have many excellent translators from different parts of China and HK. Buying WPML and getting human translation are separate. You can go ahead and buy WPML. You will need the full ‘Multilingual CMS’ package.
Then, you can enable ICanLocalize translation, explain the language requirements, choose your translator and get started. Have a look here for how this works: http://wpml.org/documentation/content-translation/
Yes, you can use all these languages with WPML. Please note that WPML doesn’t translate your content. It’s a tool that lets you run a WordPress site with multiple languages. You will be able to translate yourself or send content offsite to translators.
I am unable to use the Members Only forum for technical support even though I hvae purchased the WPML. It says I must be logged in to enter a new comment, even though I am logged in. Any suggestions?
Sounds like a browser cache or cookie issue. Can you clear the browser cache and the cookies?
After a lot of deleting cash and cookies, the problem was solved. Thank you.
Thanks for letting me know 🙂

Maybe you’ve switched currency and you’re seeing 92 of another currency? The price of WPML Multilingual CMS is $79.

WPML’s Translation Management lets you implement an editorial workflow. You can set the status of new translations as ‘draft’, so that an admin can review and approve it. You can read about the translation management here:

Dear Amir,

We have already multi-site environment ,where more than 100 network site configured. We have used WordPress network plugin for the same.
EX :Language English
http://www.us.example.com
http://www.uk.example.com
Language French
http://www.f1.example.com
We are currently using PO files system
When user comes to the site we don’t have Language selection menu.
Language will automatic selected according url
If you click http://www.us.example.com (Automatic English)
if you click http://www.f1.example.com(French automatic)
It means we have 3 to 4 sites in English.
Our main requirement ..when translator login in to the system complete the translations for English language.
http://www.us.example.com
http://www.uk.example.com
should reflect changes?
It means English language for multi-site
We have WPML set up on our site (due to english external website support) English was set as a default. We would like to set this to Dutch (Netherlands). If we do we get an error message
‘WordPress-vertaalbestand (.mo) ontbreekt. Huidige weergavetaal wordt behouden’
and it is set back to ‘English’.
Hope you can provide us with an answer/solution.
Kind regards, Joke Blanker
Sure we can help you with this. Can you please post about the problem in our technical forum? If you can tell what you are doing and include a screenshot of the message, it will help our support team identify the problem.

I would like to purchase WPML Multilingual CMS, my questions please:

Dear Amir,
Thank you very much for your reply. I will purchase it.
Hi,
Our non-profit organization is interested in using the WPML, but we have a few questions before purchasing or applying for the non-profit free subscription:
1) Is there a free-trial version that we can try out on wordpress to make sure it works?
2) I searched the WPML plugin and a lot of plugins popped out, which ones should I select?
3) Will the WPML allow me to change the information in the “theme option” area to other language?
Thanks,
Thanks for the reply.
So my questions now are:
1) How long does it take usually to process the application from the time people submit the application?
2) Can we subscribe to one year CMS first, apply for the non-profit subscription at the same time, and switch to the non-profit subscription once the process is complete?
We have a bit of a backlog with non profit requests, due to Easter vacation and our support team starting to be away. If you’re planning to apply for a non-profit application, please don’t buy WPML. This just causes a lot of work to our admins.
Hi there,
I’m interested to buy this plugin. I’m using it in worpdress.
For example,in Widget area, Settings – General Settings – Site Title (is site title able to use few languages? my site has 3 languages. Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, English)
Or make it simple, can WPML translate every content that use wordpress?
If I need help, do I get help easily?
Thank you!
Hi,
does this plugin support automatic redirection if the post is not translated into some language? For example I have a new post and it’s only translated into 2 languages out of 5. What happens if it gets open in a language where it’s not translated yet?
We want it to do a 301 redirection to the English version, as that’s what most people understand.
Thanks!
Martin
Yes. WPML includes browser-language detection and will redirect visitors to content in the language set by their browser:
http://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/language-setup/automatic-redirect-based-on-browser-language/
If content is not translated yet, visitors will reach the site’s default language.
Hello Amir,
thank you for the answer.
Is there also some option to import translated content and settings from qTranslate?
Thanks,
Martin
Yes, there’s a plugin to migrate from qTranslate to WPML:
http://wordpress.org/plugins/qtranslate-to-wpml-export/
We’re going to give it another round of testing next week and make sure that it’s working with WordPress 3.9 (which is due soon). If you have a DB with a recent qTranslate DB, I’d be happy to get it, for testing purposes.
Hi,
we are making our website multilingual and found your plugin.
I am not sure:
1. which version is right for me.
2. Compatible with my theme – which is not listed on the website (http://themeforest.net/item/nitro-responsive-multipurpose-theme/4287651)
Please advise.
Thank you,
Wouter
We haven’t tested WPML with this theme, so I really can’t tell. I see that there was a pre-sales questions about this in Nitro support, but there’s no answer from the theme author.
If you buy WPML and have problems, our support people will do their best to help. As a last resort, if things are not working together, we can always refund your order.
The best way to verify that themes work well with WPML is if the theme author tests with us. Do you want to refer the theme developer to our Go Global program?

From looking at the theme, I’m pretty sure that you will need to full ‘Multilingual CMS’ ($79) package.
Before I renew my account, can you please answer a question?
I have WPML installed on this site: http://autocamping.ca/?lang=fr
Is it possible to have different images for different languages on the home page? For example… The 3 green boxes (solutions, fluids, rewards) that should show the French graphic as well as the other things.
This really depends on where the images are coming from. If they are part of the page content, it should be trivial. You have different pages per language. If the image is coming from a theme option, we need to check how the theme works and if this field it translatable.
The images are loaded from the header.php file. For example, here is some of the code…
<img alt="" src="/images/banner01.gif” />
How do I go about refering to the banner01_fr.gif image when the French page is loaded?
Hello,
If we’re looking to implement WPML on our development site before we push it live to our real site (two different WP installs), would we have to purchase two versions or will the one purchase work for both?
Thank you!
You only need to buy WPML once and you can use it for all your sites and sites that you build for your clients. This includes development sites.
Hi,
The WPML, Have support for thai language ?
I am interested for Multilingual Blog package. Can pay via Paypal ?
Thank you.
Robert
Yes, you can pay using PayPal. WPML works fine with Thai characters and any other Asian language.
Have a look here for how this works:

Before buying I would like to be certain, that WMPL supports the translation to/from the languages Hungarian, Slovenian, Danish and Dutch.
Yes, you can use all these languages with WPML. Please note that WPML doesn’t translate your content. It’s a tool that lets you run a WordPress site with multiple languages. You will be able to translate yourself or send content offsite to translators.
You can read about translation options here:
