CheckinSweden.com is a hotel guide service to hotels and conference facilities in Sweden. The hotel guide also provides an calendar of events with happenings around the largest cities in Sweden and a news blog with the latest news about travel, conferences and hotels.
The website was built with WordPress CMS 3.4 including plugins for expanded functionality.
To be able to create many different custom post types and to more easily find and manage hotels and / or conference facilities the accommodations were tagged with cities and regions by their own taxonomies using the plugin WP-types. For language support the WPML plugin (The Multilingual WordPress Plugin) was chosen. OpenStreetMap(OSM) was picked up as a map service. For a better search the plugin Relevanssi was used which makes it possible to select specific custom posts to be displayed in the search results or not. The plugin WP Ad Center was used for an advertising tool. Other plugins of choice was WordPress SEO, WP Super Cache and CMS Tree Page View. Google fonts for web fonts.
