We’re glad to announce that all of our ‘glue’ e-commerce plugins (yep, every single one of them) have now been updated. This updates includes fixes a number of bugs and a few small improvements. Besides that good news, WPML now fully supports JigoShop.

JigoShop Multilingual

First, a very big thanks to the fine folks from JigoShop, who worked with us and pushed hard to make this release possible. JigoShop is a great product and we’re proud to finally have WPML support for it.

You’re welcome to download jigoshop-multilingual-0.9.

WooCommerce Multilingual

We’re getting great traction for WooCommerce Multilingual. A good number of people are using it to power live sites and we even have some in our showcase.

WooCommerce Multilingual 1.2 releases fixes a number of bugs.

  • PHP warning when attributes are used in variations
  • Order statuses disappear
  • Show subcategories on category pages issue

And, this version now support translation for payment gateways.

MarketPress Multilingual

There’s also a growing community behind MarketPress Multilingual and we’re very happy to see them active and improving the product. MarkerPress Multilingual 1.1.3 includes the following bug fixes:

  • Shopping cart widget appears in the default langauge when adding a new product to the cart
  • Global Products in main site of a network are shown in all languages
  • Global Product Categories in main site of a network are shown in all languages

You can get it from your WPML account, under Downloads.

  1. in Downloads I can’t see MarkerPress Multilingual 1.1.3

there is MarkerPress Multilingual 1.1.2 only

    • Sorry about that. I forgot to create the download entry. It’s updated now and you can download MarketPress Multilingual 1.1.3 from your WPML Downloads.

    • I’d really love to have full compatibility with WPEC, but this turns out to be pretty complicated. We’re still working with the WPEC people, but they have their own priorities. Until the Variations issues are resolved, on WPEC side, there’s not much we can do.

      • Its good to hear that WPML is integrating with more ecommerce plugins, but i’ll have to agree with Hans.
A lot of people like us are running websites on WPEC, and the truth is that we’re not seeing much improvement between these 2 great plugins. So far we’ve been compromising and hardcoding here and there, but if this goes on, we’ll have to start looking for alternatives for future websites, either for WPML or WPEC.
Don’t get me wrong, I understand your reasons, but at the end of the day we’ll pick what works better no matter whose to blame.

        • You’re absolutely right. It’s not that we don’t want, it’s that we didn’t manage to do so. We spend several months (yes, months, not days) trying to get this working. We also hired WPEC developers and they didn’t manage to resolve the problems. We’re still trying, but it’s not as easy as it sounds.

          • That’s why i choose woocommerce because there are too much bugs not resolved with WP ecommerce, the first exemple : image in category ! no fixed !

            • I used WPEC on a project a few years back and I’ve had a go once or twice at doing trial sites using newer versions of the plugin.

To be honest though, each time I download WPEC I feel like a battered housewife hoping “this time things will be better”.

I think WPML is a great product and next time I have an opportunity I am probably going to go with the WooCommerce / WPML combination, particularly since WooCommerce has a growing number of responsive themes available in their theme shop.

      • @Amir

Is there a way to keep an eye on the recent development in this matter? I’m looking forward to using wpml and wp-ecommerce in my next project but I won’t plan anything until those issues are resolved.
I really hope both of your teams can somehow work things out.

    • I purchased WPEC Gold Cart and am disappointed that WPML doesn’t work. Might have to fork out more money and get WooCommerce or Multilingual instead. 🙁

  2. Thank you Amir, that was to be feared. But at least now we know where we stand with WPEC+WPML.

  3. Hi,

I’m looking for a good solutions that works with e-commerce plugin.
Does WPLM works with e-commerce 3.8.8.1?
    Thank you for your time.
    Regards
    Antonio

    • There are some issues between WPML and WP E-Commerce plugin that we just didn’t manage to resolve. Have you ever considered another e-commerce plugin? WPML works great with WooCommerce, JigoShop and MarketPress.
