Getting started with BigTranslation and WPML

To send content for translation to BigTranslation, install the following plugins on your website:

  • WPML Multilingual CMS – the core plugin
  • WPML String Translation – this plugin will allow you to translate interface strings

You can download them from your wpml.org account. If you do not have an account yet, you can create a new one by choosing WPML Multilingual CMS or Multilingual Agency plans.

Working with BigTranslation via WPML

Connecting Your Website to BigTranslation

First, you need to connect WPML with BigTranslation. Part of this very simple process is to request your BigTranslation API token.

To request a WPML token from BigTranslation, go to BigTranslation’s WPML page and fill in the contact form. Once BigTranslation receives it, they will send you a token as soon as possible, within one working day, straight to your email.

As an alternative, don’t hesitate to write directly to sales@bigtranslation.com with your request and they can also provide you with a token this way.

Sending content for translation

Once your site is connected to BigTranslation, you can start sending your content for translation.

Receive a quotation from BigTranslation

As soon as they receive the content you sent via WPML, they will analyze it and provide you with an exact quotation, taking into consideration the most suitable service for your project.

All our offers are non-binding, meaning you can cancel your request if our quotation doesn’t suit your needs. If you accept the offer, they will start the only process which is not automated: the translation itself!

Receiving completed translations

Once done, your site is ready to receive completed translations.

You will get a notification from BigTranslation at that moment.

Canceling translation jobs

If you need to cancel a job or a project, you can contact BigTranslation at sales@bigtranslation.com and let them know about it so they can update any pending quotation/project you have in their system.
