Overview of the issue

This fatal error is occurring on the first install of WPML (with version 4.2.2) when there are differences in the charset of some tables.

This problem has been fixed with WPML version 4.2.3.

Workaround

There is currently no workaround for this issue.

      We are running some pre-release tests now. If no problem is detected we should publish a hotfix version today (maybe late though).

  2. We released WPML 4.2.3 which includes a fix for this issue. Please update you WPML plugin if you run into this problem.
