Getting started with Commit Global and WPML

To send content for translation to Commit Global, install the following plugins on your website:

  • WPML Multilingual CMS – the core plugin
  • WPML String Translation – this plugin will allow you to translate interface strings

You can download them from your wpml.org account. If you do not have an account yet, you can create a new one by choosing WPML Multilingual CMS or Multilingual Agency plans.

Working with Commit Global via WPML

Here are the basic steps of working with WPML and Commit Global. For a full walkthrough, check out our page about using WPML with a translation service.

Connecting Your Website to Commit Global

First, you need to connect WPML with Commit Global. Part of this very simple process is to request your Commit Global API token.

Use the contact form provided by Commit Global to request your API Token. Also make sure to provide the following information: First name, Last name, Email, Company, Website URL.

Sending content for translation

Once your site is connected to Commit Global, you can start sending your content for translation.

Receive a quotation from Commit Global

Once the pages have been sent for translation, your Commit Global Account Manager will prepare a detailed quote and send it to you via email.  Upon quote confirmation, they will start the translation process.

Receiving completed translations

Once a translation project is finished by Commit Global, it will be re-imported into your website via the WPML plugin and your Commit Global Account Manager will inform you via email.

Once done, your site is ready to receive completed translations.

Canceling translation jobs

If for any reason you want to cancel the translation of the pages sent to Commit Global, you need to contact your Account Manager directly. The project can be canceled only by Commit Global. You cannot manually delete or cancel jobs from the Translation Jobs tab on your website.

Translating the Rest of Your Site

Once you’re done translating the content of your page, there could be untranslated texts in menus, sidebars, and similar places. No problem, you can use Commit Global to translate the rest of your site
