About RWS Language Cloud TMS

The RWS Language Cloud TMS connector for WPML provides a seamless link between WPML and RWS Language Cloud TMS, allowing fast and easy management of multilingual web content and translation projects from within WordPress.

The connector is compatible with RWS Managed Translation, RWS TMS and Trados
translation management systems.

Getting started with RWS Language Cloud TMS and WPML

To send content for translation to RWS Language Cloud TMS, install the following plugins on your website:

  • WPML Multilingual CMS – the core plugin
  • WPML String Translation – this plugin will allow you to translate interface strings

You can download them from your wpml.org account. If you do not have an account yet, you can create a new one by choosing WPML Multilingual CMS or Multilingual Agency plans.

Working with RWS Language Cloud TMS via WPML

Here are the basic steps of working with WPML and RWS Language Cloud TMS. For a full walkthrough, check out our page about using WPML with a translation service.

Connecting Your Website to RWS Language Cloud TMS

First, you need to connect WPML with RWS Language Cloud TMS. Part of this very simple process is to request your username, password, client ID and client secret.

NOTE: If you are an existing RWS customer, but new to WPML, please refer to the previous version of this documentation.

If you are new to RWS Language Cloud TMS, you can contact your RWS account
manager or sales representative to receive these details.

Once you have your API Credentials (username, password, client ID and client secret) enter them in WPML to authenticate RWS Language Cloud.

Sending content for translation

Once your site is connected to RWS Language Cloud TMS, you can start sending your content for translation.

Receive a quotation from RWS Language Cloud TMS

Once your translation basket has been transmitted, RWS Language Cloud will be notified immediately and will proceed to carry out detailed analysis and quoting of the batch.

RWS Language Cloud will email you a detailed quote for the batch, with terms and conditions of business and simple instructions on how to authorize the translation.

Receiving completed translations

Once done, your site is ready to receive completed translations.

Canceling translation jobs

If for any reason, you want to cancel the translation of the pages sent from WPML to RWS Language Cloud, bear in mind that:

  • You cannot manually delete or cancel jobs from the Translation Jobs tab on your website.
  • The project can be canceled only by RWS Language Cloud. To do this, please contact your RWS account team directly.

Translating the Rest of Your Site

Once you’re done translating the content of your page, there could be untranslated texts in menus, sidebars, and similar places. No problem, you can use RWS Language Cloud TMS to translate the rest of your site.
