Getting Started

Start by installing and activating the following:

The Impreza theme comes bundled with a number of premium and free plugins, including WooCommerce. If you are using WooCommerce, we suggest installing WooCommerce Multilingual. This plugin comes with your WPML CMS account.

If you’re new to WPML, check out our Getting Started Guide. It quickly walks you through different translation options you can use.

Translating Posts and Pages

Impreza is fully compatible with WPML’s Translate Everything Automatically mode, which translates your site’s content as you add or edit it.

You can also choose to use the Translate What You Choose mode. This option lets you decide what to translate, and who will translate it. Choose from translating content yourself, assigning it to individual translators, or hiring a professional translation agency.

To learn how to translate your posts and pages in bulk, see our guide to translating content via the Translation Management Dashboard.

Translating Pages Built With WPBakery Page Builder

The Impreza theme comes bundled with WPBakery Page Builder.

Visit our documentation page to learn how to build multilingual sites with WPBakery Page Builder.

Adding Translation Support for Custom WPBakery Page Builder Modules

WPML allows you to manually enable the translation of custom WPBakery Page Builder modules and their attributes. Check out our guide to registering page builder modules.

Translating Portfolio and Testimonials Pages

The Impreza theme comes with Portfolio and Testimonials custom post types. To learn more, see our documentation page about translating custom post types.

In the example below, we’ll show you how to translate a Portfolio page by yourself:

  1. Edit the Portfolio page you’d like to translate. From the Language box, click the plus icon next to the language you want to translate your page into.

Translating Portfolio and Testimonials Categories

You can translate Portfolio and Testimonials Categories in the same way you would translate post categories and custom taxonomies.

We’ll show you how to translate Portfolio Categories from a central taxonomy menu.

  1. Go to WPMLTaxonomy Translation and select Portfolio Categories from the drop-down menu.
  2. Click the plus icon next to each term to add your translations.

Keep in mind that the translations of categories are universal: any changes you make are updated everywhere.

Translating Texts From Impreza Theme, Plugins, and Other Places

Besides the content that comes from posts and pages on your site, there are usually some texts coming from other places, such as themes and plugins.

To learn how to translate these texts, read our documentation page about String Translation.

Translating Menus

With WPML, you can translate your menus automatically, manually, or synchronize them across all your languages. You can learn more on our page about translating menus.

Creating Multilingual Sliders with Slider Revolution

The Impreza theme comes bundled with the Slider Revolution plugin.

Read through our documentation to learn how to create multilingual sliders using Slider Revolution.

Changing a Page’s Layout

With Impreza, you can customize a page’s layout. This allows you to change the appearance of the sidebar, header, and footer for particular posts, pages, or custom post types.

If you make changes to your page’s layout in your default language without updating the content, WPML will automatically sync these changes to your secondary language pages.

You can choose to have layouts for particular posts and pages. However, you cannot change the layout of a post or page in your secondary language. It needs to be the same as the default language page layout.
