WPML page is having problems on the WordPress plugins repository. The problem began on Saturday. The WP repository didn’t like the outgoing links our readme.txt file had. We managed to somewhat restore it, but it’s still severely broken.

As a result, WPML upgrades are not being pushed by the WP update mechanism and WPML is nowhere to be found when searching for it.

WPML upgrades are super important. Skipping them can lead to all sorts of problems. This is especially true when combined with WordPress upgrades.

In the meanwhile, you can find the up-to-date WPML download link in our home page. I recommend subscribing to this blog to get new-version notifications. There’s a special blog category for WPML upgrades.

If you’re using an RSS reader, this is our blog’s feed. Otherwise, you can get email notifications. Visit the blog and use the email signup box.

We’re sorry for this inconvenience. Trust me, it’s a bigger hassle for us.

I’ll let you know as soon as the WP repository is behaving. BTW, if you want to facilitate things and get the normal WPML plugin page up faster, write about it to the fine folks at plugins@wordpress.org. We’ve never received a reply from that email address, so if you know anyone who’s handling that repository and is more responsive, that might help.

  1. No, I don’t think it has been fixed yet.
    At least with my pretty much clean install (only a theme installed, no other active plugins or widgets), it seems to be incompatible as soon as more then one menu is present (be it by activating WPML and adding a menu or by adding a menu and then activating WPML, either way does not work).
    Since I don’t think there is much point in creating a multilanguage site, if I cannot create a matching menu per language, I guess I’ll just set up my site the hard way with a seperate wordpress install. 🙁

  2. hey, I’m getting this error on all my installations because of the update
    Call to a member function get_element_translations() on a non-object in/plugins/sitepress-multilingual-cms/inc/translation-management/pro-translation.class.php on line 1594
    What’s wrong with the plugin, doesnt it work anymore?
