How would you like to get paid for spotting bugs? OnTheGoSystems is looking for talented testers, to join our development team. Testers will put our products through extreme use conditions and expose problems during the development.

This is a full time job, which you can do from your home.

What’s a tester?

We work in teams of 2 or 3 people. Each team has a leader, who is the senior developer and one or two team members, who are pretty great developers too. Teams have responsibility for products. We’ve learned that ongoing deep testing is key to releasing stable and robust plugins. So, we are hiring testers, who will join the different development teams.

The job of the tester is not much different than this of the developers. Testers need to know the team’s product inside and out. They will participate in daily planning meetings (virtual, courtesy of Google Hangouts), where the team discusses the day’s tasks, issues and solutions.

Testers need to follow development closely. They need to understand how the product works and how it’s built. Then, get it to fail miserably. It’s not as easy as it sounds. From experience, we can tell that the earlier the testing, the easier it is to debug and fix problems. Also, far fewer problems make it to final QA and even fewer slip into the released version.

Testers will use standard tools, such as a PHP debugger, as well as in-house tools, such as code coverage metering.

A tester position is challenging and rewarding. We are looking for talented and meticulous individuals who will do this work, enjoy it and be a pleasure to work with.
