Overview of the issue
When using Elementor with WPML, you might experience the following issue: Cloud templates do not appear in the secondary language when attempting to import them from the Elementor Cloud Template Library. Instead, a “No templates saved just yet” message is displayed. In the primary language, all cloud templates are visible, including those saved in the secondary language.
Workaround
Elementor Cloud Templates are not stored locally and therefore do not have a language assigned, you can still access them in the secondary language using the following method:
- Go to “Templates > Saved templates” and edit the template in the secondary language.
- Click on the Elementor Library icon (the folder icon).
- In the popup, go to “Templates > Cloud Templates“.
- Use the search box in the top-right corner to locate your templates.
The search function should retrieve templates from your Elementor Cloud account, regardless of the language context.
Important:
This is not the recommended method for translating templates. We recommend the following workflow:
- Create the template in the primary language.
- Within that template, insert the cloud template via the Elementor Library.
- Use WPML to translate the original template into the secondary language.
This approach ensures not only translation support, but that also other settings, such as display conditions, are correctly copied into the translation.
