This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client is experiencing issues with domain validation when saving settings in WPML and has trouble switching languages without logging in again.
Solution:
1. For the domain validation issue, uncheck the "Validate" box next to the domain field and save the settings. This should allow the settings to be saved even if the domain is not validated.
2. For the issue with language switching, ensure that the 'Auto sign in and sign out' option is enabled. Also, check that the Site URL and WordPress URL under Settings > General are configured correctly, without discrepancies like one having a subfolder (e.g., "/en") and the other not. After making these adjustments, log out and then log back in from the main site.

If these steps do not resolve the issues, we recommend marking this ticket as resolved and opening a new ticket for each specific issue as per our Support Policy. This approach helps us focus on one problem at a time and allows other users to find solutions more efficiently.

Please note that the solution provided might be outdated or not applicable to your case. We highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If the problem persists, please open a new support ticket at WPML support forum.

Hello,

Thanks for contacting us.

While you wait for my colleague to take over the ticket, let me try to help you with the issue quickly.

This can sometimes happen, and is completely normal as WPML sometimes can not validate the domain, just uncheck the "Validate" box next to the domain field and save the settings. It should save just fine.

Regards,
Drazen

Hi again
I have done that, and the other domain is working. However, I can't switch languages without logging on again to the translated domain. Are these two issues connected?

Kindly regards
Arild

Hi there, Arild.

The issue is a different one, and they should not be connected.

Please check first if this checkbox from my screenshot is active. The issue might be related to that.

I also remember a case where this issue occurred because the Site URL and WordPress URL were not configured properly under Settings > General (like having a subfolder for one of them - e.g. "/en" - and not for the other one).

Please make sure that it is configured correctly. Then, resave different domains per language URLs by enabling "Auto sign in and sign out."

Once done, log in from the main site and log in again.

Also, please note that, per our Support Policy, we can handle only one issue per ticket.

Continuing with one issue per ticket helps supporters focus on one problem at once and enables other users to find solutions to their questions faster.

If those steps don't help you fix this issue, can you please mark this ticket as resolved and open a new ticket for this specific issue?

Thank you very much for your understanding and cooperation.

Mihai
