Hi, we have a number of problems with our WPML website. Its based on English, with 6 other languages/translations (SE, FR, DE, ES, US, AU). Raising this as a separate ticket to try and get it resolved asap.

1. We can no longer edit one of the languages with Elementor, needed because the content varies across all the sites - Elementor on the other languages works fine.

I am trying to:
Edit a /US page with Elementor
I am not trying to perform a translation, just change an image/link/content specific to this location

Link to a page where the issue can be seen:
This occurs on all reedmackay.com/us/* pages

e.g.
hidden link
hidden link

I expected to see:
Elementor page editor loaded with left sidebar for widgets
as we get with the AU version
hidden link
hidden link

Other languages /fr /es /sv /de and the default all work.

Instead, I got:
Elementor editor loading failed and a link to safe mode (which doesn't work either)

On our staging site, this works but it takes a while to load.

Wordpress 6.4.3
WPML 4.6.9
Elementor 3.19.0
Elementor Pro 3.19.0
Neve Theme
Neve Pro Addon (disabled)
+ others

I've tried disabling key plugins but no luck in bringing the editor backup for /us language pages.
Default lang = EN

2. We have made numerous edits to all 7 sites within the Automatic Translation Editor tool and Elementor, but they are often 'wiped' and it reverts back to the original UK within days.

Can we confirm, if we edit in Elementor and then go back into WPML String Translation and Advanced Translation Editor that our elementor changes will be overwritten? We believe this is what is happening.
E.g. we changed some URLS in Elementor and WPML string translations on Friday and today they have reverted back.

For your reference, when we originally built the site, we used WPML to translate the UK site into 7 different languages. We have now found the client wants to tailor make their own pages to differ slightly from the UK site.

3. We now have a situation where an SE page (previously translated from the UK to SE and then updated in ATE so images match) has got different UK copy in the ATE vs whats on the live UK site - see screenshots attached. The UK screen shot shows what is live, the SE screen shot shows whats on the SE site and the ATE screen shot shows its translating copy, that doesn't match the UK site. Where else could this be pulling from?

Hello Sophie,

Please be aware that we aim to keep each support ticket focused on a single issue. This approach helps us maintain organization and facilitates the potential escalation of any issues to our development team.

Let's address the first issue regarding Elementor not launching for the US language. I request you to open a separate ticket for the third issue, as it demands additional investigation.

For the first issue, I've encountered similar situations before, even without WPML, which often indicates potential database corruption. However, it's peculiar that this issue is occurring with only one language. I will enable a private field reply to examine this further. Please make sure a current backup of your website is available.

Regarding the second issue, echoing my colleague's previous advice, I confirm that using both manual translations within Elementor and the Advanced Translation Editor (ATE) will result in manual translations being overwritten by ATE translations.

If manual translation is necessary, we suggest following this workflow for the pages requiring manual intervention:
