New Setup and Translation Options<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
In previous versions of ACFML, you could only set the translation preferences for custom fields on a field-by-field basis. With ACFML 2.0 beta 2, you can configure the multilingual setup for custom fields in just one step<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The new ACFML setup wizard lets you choose between two pre-set translation options for each of your field groups:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

- Same fields across languages<\/strong> – In this mode, your field group is the same across all languages. You can use WPML\u2019s Advanced Translation Editor to conveniently translate field labels and content.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- Different fields across languages<\/strong> – This mode is for field groups that need to have different field configurations across different languages. In this mode, you can use the native WordPress editor to translate your fields.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
Now, you only need to select one of these modes and ACFML will automatically set the recommended translation preferences for the fields inside the field group for you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Easily Translate Field Labels and Labels for Choices<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
Up until now, translating field labels and labels for Choices has been complex. You had the option of adjusting the function in your theme\u2019s files to make the labels translation-ready. Or, you could translate labels by setting the Field Group custom post type as Translatable, but this was known to cause issues. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
ACFML 2.0 beta 2 brings an improved way of translating field labels and labels for Choices. How you translate them depends on the translation option you select for your field group:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

- In the Same fields across languages <\/strong>mode, <\/strong>it\u2019s as easy as sending a first post using the field group for translation. You\u2019ll see the field labels available for translation in the Advanced Translation Editor. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
- In the Different fields across languages<\/strong> mode, you can simply go to WPML \u2192 String Translation.<\/strong> All your field labels and labels for Choices will be available for translation there.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

You should only install this beta version on a test or development site, never on a live production site.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
To see all the new and improved features of ACFML 2.0 beta 2 in action, it\u2019s important you test it with the recently released WPML 4.6<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
From your site\u2019s dashboard, go to Plugins \u2192 Add New<\/strong> and click on the Commercial<\/strong> tab. Click the Check for updates<\/strong> button and then use the Updates<\/strong> channel dropdown menu to switch to Beta<\/strong>. Finally, in the dialog that appears, click Switch<\/strong> to update your site to the latest available beta version.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
