This release includes a number of important bug fixes for the main WPML plugins, plus some compatibility fixes for plugins and themes.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\" tb-image tb-image-media aligncenter\" data-toolset-blocks-image=\"f0a644cdc2cb1503f3089a553c08d4ad\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"512\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/wpml.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/twitter-22-1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-7425873\" srcset=\"https:\/\/wpml.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/twitter-22-1.png 1024w, https:\/\/wpml.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/twitter-22-1-300x150.png 300w, https:\/\/wpml.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/twitter-22-1-150x75.png 150w, https:\/\/wpml.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/twitter-22-1-768x384.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>With the WordPress 5.6 release right around the corner, it\u2019s important to keep all of your plugins updated to ensure a seamless transition to PHP 8.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>WPML 4.4.5 handles a number of fixes for known issues and will clear the way for our next release, WPML 4.4.6, which will focus on compatibility with WordPress 5.6 and PHP 8.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Fixes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Major fixes in this release include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Fixes for issues with custom XML configuration<\/li><li>Fixed disappearing WPML links when editing the menu<\/li><li>Fixed updating media duplication options for posts without attachments<\/li><li>Removed optional values from arguments that were required previously<\/li><li>Fixed auto-translation of site links when using the Advanced Translation Editor<\/li><li>Fixed an issue with ignoring the <strong>Skip Language<\/strong> setting on static posts page without translations<\/li><li>Fixed a problem with <strong>wpml_permalink<\/strong> showing the wrong permalink<\/li><li>Allow HTML when translating terms description<\/li><li>Fixed a problem with saving translated term when its slug is the same as the original term<\/li><li>Fixed a problem with saving the widget language<\/li><li>Restored the <strong>Duplicate<\/strong> button for <strong>Display as Translated<\/strong> post types<\/li><li>Update: On November 23rd, we also released WPML 4.4.6. This release includes a fix for an issue with <strong>rewrite_rules<\/strong> that caused some sites to show blog content on all pages instead of the actual content.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Compatibility<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This release also includes some updates for PHP 8 compatibility, as well as compatibility fixes for the following themes and plugins:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Google Site Kit<\/li><li>Elementor<\/li><li>Avada<\/li><li>Cornerstone<\/li><li>Page builders<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>For a full list of fixes and improvements, please see the changelogs on the <a href=\"https:\/\/wpml.org\/account\/downloads\/\">Downloads<\/a> page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Download and Install<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>We push out WPML releases gradually.
