WooCommerce Multilingual 5.1 makes your multilingual store run faster and better.

Do you know what WooCommerce store owners value the most? When we talk to them about it, they point out two things:

  • Stable site operation
  • Compatibility with different WooCommerce add-ons

This is why WooCommerce Multilingual 5.1 focuses on compatibility, performance, and various fixes.

Better Compatibility

This release takes care of important compatibility improvements:

  • We handled deprecation notices when using PHP 8.1
  • We added multi-currency support for WP Super Cache

We also improved compatibility with the following plugins:

  • YITH Auctions for WooCommerce
  • WooCommerce Memberships
  • WC Product Addons
  • Germanized for WooCommerce
  • Yykes Custom Product Tabs

Performance Improvements

WooCommerce Multilingual stores already run smoothly, but we always try to improve performance. This version makes your store leaner:

  • Saving a variable product translation is now 23% faster
  • A Shop page displaying variable products is now 28% faster
  • There are now 17 queries less on every front-end request **

** This improvement requires WPML 4.6 scheduled for release in January 2023.

Bug Fixes

Last but not least, we fixed many bugs related to:

  • Permalinks
  • Reviews & ratings
  • Multi-currency

Plus, an array of other bugs related to different issues.

For a full list of what’s included in this release, please see the changelog.

    • Hello! Yes, WooCommerce Multilingual & Multicurrency is compatible with both WooCommerce 7.1 and WordPress 6.1.

    • Hi, Ahmed! In our list of known issues, I cannot see any open issues between LSCache and WooCommerce Multilingual & Multicurrency. Did you report this to our support? If you have a ticket, I can take a look and see the status. I am asking because in general, when there’s an issue, we create an entry on our Known Issues page.

  1. WooCommerce Multilingual & Multicurrency is the worst update possible it’s so buggy and so slow than before.

    This post is a LIE

    • Hi, Johan! I am sorry to hear this. Can you please clarify what exactly is the issue? If you can share the support ticket(s) you opened, I can quickly follow up on them and check the status.

If you’re experiencing slowness and you think WooCommerce Multilingual & Multicurrency plugin is causing it, please let us know in the support forum. We will take a look and escalate to our development team all confirmed issues.

  2. Hi
I am using your services – many translations I correct manually for precision of vocabulary- then your software tries to ‘re translate’ them to the original wrong translation.
    How can I avoid this?
    Thank you
    Nathalie

  3. I’ve been using WPML for 7 years now on different sites (yes with a lifetime license 😄), and it works great. I’m still surprised that the folder contains 4500 files and weighs 35MB, but I don’t know how you manage to limit the resource consumption. Good job guys. 👍

    • Thanks a lot for your kind words, Pierre! When it comes to what you mention, the magicians in question are our developers. Honestly, I also don’t know how they do what they do, they’re amazing. 🙂

  4. Hello,

I have the perpetual founder license with unlimited licensed websites, however I had to stop using WPML.

It’s excruciatingly slow, even slower than WooCommerce. When you need both, the website takes 4 seconds to show a page (the same server delivers no-WPML websites in 0.8 seconds).

I have installed two performance profiling plugins and they both show WPML as taking 50%+ of the web page output time.

If I install two of your competitor plugins they are way faster. I really, REALLY love and want to use WPML, please make it really fast.
It used to be fairly good but since when you started using Composer and all those bells and whistles, performance tanked like a rock.

    • Hi there!

I’m sorry you had to stop using WPML and we would really like to help you check this out. would it be possible for you to maybe create a staging site where you can show us what you mean here? Performance issues have a lot of variables (Server configuration, amount of plugins and what they do, etc) that make it impossible for us to just “guess” what and where could be the problem.

We are actually always improving our performance and the next updates will be focused on improvements like these but it would be worth having a look at your specific situation so we can make sure that what we’re doing could help you as well!

You seem to mention that composer and other features could’ve “tanked” the performance, but do you have a specific scenario that led you to believe this? all this feedback is highly appreciated to us and will help us check and improve on our end!

      Regards.

        • Unfortunately what you sent me are just stats and they dont’ really help in knowing where the problem lies (in details, i mean) but i thank you for taking the time to share it. we’re actually going to focus on bug fixing, performance and overall plugin improvement after WPML 4.6 comes out. This is not the place to test so i kindly ask you to open a support ticket if you manage to create a staging site so one of our supporters checks it out and try to see if they find something different from what we already have.

          Regards.

    • Hello!

The bug reported was already notified to our developers and the only reason why we haven’t comeback with a workaround or a permanent fix is because the situation is a bit of a hybryd between an improvement between how the booking handles the situation and a feature request on our end. However, we should be able to have the problem fixed by version 5.2 of WooCommerce Multilingual.

Specific compatibility situations like these take a lot of work and testing, specially because the issue is NOT a WooCommerce Multilingual Issue alone but it’s part of how the booking plugin handles the bookings. You can rest assure that we are working on this issue to provide you a better experience and we will share a workaround if we find one so you can continue enjoying our plugins, in the meantime.

  5. ¡Hola!

    • Hi, Marta! Both WPML 4.5.13 and WPML 4.5.14 are completely compatible with WordPress 6.1.1. Version 4.5.14 of WPML contains only a minor security improvement.

Please create a ticket in our Support Forum and allow us to help you there (this post is about a WooCommerce Multilingual release and your question is unrelated to it). Thanks!
