After a translation has been done on a FormidableProForm, there is a strange behavior preventing us to update the translated message afterward. For example, when creating the form, we translate the Sent Success msg. Everything works fine in French (default language) and English (translated language). If we go back into the Translate Form section of this form and we update/change a message, it will be saved and the checkbox is checked but it will never be displayed to the end user on the front end. Even if we clear cache, open a private browser tab or try from another computer or browser. The translated string is shown both in the Translate Form section of the form and the String translation section of WPML, but there is no way to see it on the front end, it's always the old string that will be displayed. We tried to remove the string from the WPML and add it back, there is no change.

Thanks,

Hello,

As far as I see from your screenshot the original string was entered inside the plugin options in English, while your original form language is French, as you said.

It is likely that you are not translating the correct string or that the string you are looking for is not assigned to the correct language inside String Translation, as explained here:

https://wpml.org/documentation/plugins-compatibility/how-to-translate-formidable-forms-with-wpml/#translating-forms-created-in-default-languages-other-than-english

Please scan Formidable Forms for new strings at WPML > Theme and Plugin Localization and then verify again on WPML String Translation if the correct string(s) is translated.

If you still run into issues after that, please let me know.

Best regards
Andreas

Hello,

Everything is correctly set. The original form is in french and I'm using the Translate button from the from itself. I saw all the french string on the left and the english string on the right. After changing the text and saving many times, I finally got the good result without doing anything else. There is no cache plugin enabled on this Website. What else can cause this issue?

Thanks

Hello,

Maybe this could be a memory issue?

Please check WPML > Support > WordPress and check memory usage and assigned WP Memory Limit.

To help you faster, I've enabled a private message for submitting the debug information for this support ticket. Please see this link for how to get this information from your site and give it to us:
http://wpml.org/faq/provide-debug-information-faster-support/

Best regards
Andreas

WP memory already assigned to 128M with max to 256M. Same thing for PHP @ 256M.

Thanks,

Hello,

I would like to request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to your site to take a better look at the issue. It would be better for a testing site where the issue is replicated.

You will find the needed fields for this below the comment area when you log in to leave your next reply. The information you will enter is private which means only you and I can see and have access to it.

Maybe I'll need to replicate your site locally. For this, I’ll need to temporarily install a plugin called “All In One WP Migration” on your site. This will allow me to create a copy of your site and your content. Once the problem is resolved I will delete the local site. Let me know if this is ok with you.

IMPORTANT

Please make a backup of site files and database before providing us access.
If you do not see the wp-admin/FTP fields this means your post & website login details will be made PUBLIC. DO NOT post your website details unless you see the required wp-admin/FTP fields. If you do not, please ask me to enable the private box. The private box looks like this:

The steps are also shown in this video: hidden link

Andreas
