This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client is attempting to configure DNS settings at IONOS for using separate domains for different language translations with WPML. The client's hosting provider, IONOS, indicated that CNAME redirection for the main domain names is not possible and suggested contacting WPML support for alternative methods.
Solution:
We recommended ensuring that all domains or subdomains point to the same WordPress installation to function correctly with WPML. This setup is something the hosting company should be able to assist with. For further guidance, we advised the client to refer to our documentation on how to use WPML with different domains per language, which can be found here: WPML Documentation on Using Different Domains Per Language.

If this solution does not resolve the issue or seems outdated, or if it does not apply to your case, please check related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verify the version of the permanent fix, and confirm that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. Background of the issue:
I am trying to configure DNS at IONOS for separate domains using WPML. I prefer to have two different or separate domains for translations. I have been following the documentation provided by WPML.

Symptoms:
CNAME redirection is not possible for main domain names according to my hoster, IONOS. They suggested contacting support for WPML to explore other methods.

Questions:
Could you provide guidance on configuring DNS for separate domains with WPML?
Are there alternative methods to implement WPML with different domains per language if CNAME redirection is not possible?

While one of my teammates handles your ticket, I will provide you with the initial debugging steps.

Please take a look at our guide:
https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/language-setup/language-url-options/how-to-use-wpml-with-different-domains-per-language/

To ensure that different domains function as expected, you need to ensure that all your domains (or subdomains) point to the same WordPress installation where you are using WPML.

This is something your hosting company should be able to assist you with or know how to set up. WPML does not check your DNS settings; the feature will work as long as the second domain points to the same installation.

Hey Andrey, thanks a lot for your reply. I read already all your documentations. Unfortunately it's not really precise how to manage the settings by myself. The problem, like I descripted, my hosting company (IONOS) won't do it OR as I said, it's apparantly not possible to change CNAME according to them?! (see my screenshots pls)
So I am bit lost now what to do. Any advice in my case?
Thanks a lot in advance.

Hello,

thanks for getting back.

I am afraid it is difficult to suggest anything more from our side.

But what you can ask for hosting is that you need 2 domains to show the same website / directory, so for example when you open domain.com it should open your website and work normally when you open domain2.com, it should also open and work normally, not redirect. Maybe they will know another way to achieve this.
