Background of the issue:
I am using WPML with individual domains for each translation, ACF, and Elementor plus Hello theme and child. I have previously used WPML with subfolders on the same domain and was able to open translated pages and templates with the Elementor editor and change them individually.
Original Text:
"Translation of pages is working, on the main language footer the language menu appears, the links can be clicked and the other domains pages are shown with the right language translations. But WITHOUT the Elementor design (no CSS/Html). Also the Elementor Editor is not opening on translations. I tried translating a page directly and also by duplicating the pages first.
Every translation has its own post-ID as usual.
Until now I experienced WPML translations with subfolders on the same domain, and there I was able to open translated pages and templates with the Elementor editor and change them individually."
Symptoms:
Translation of pages is working, but the Elementor design (no CSS/HTML) is not applied. The Elementor Editor is not opening on translations.
Questions:
Did I miss a specific setting to get Elementor to work with the setup on different domains?
Could the issue be unrelated to the separate domains?
could you please open the secondary domain and check if there are any errors in the JavaScript console of your browser while using the Elementor editor?
There might be a CORS policy issue viewable that's preventing resources from loading correctly on the secondary domain.
il will check that, if I can replicate the error, and get back to you. The layout is showing well on translation since I changed the CSS print method under elementor/settings/performance/ from external to internal.
Elementor editor is still not showing up on translated templates and posts.
To check the CORS policy I woud have to change the CSS print method to external again and look for JS errors.
With the above information about the print method can you already identify the possible underlying issue?
thank you.
So the console is showing the following for the translated page with external CSS print method:

Thanks! So, it’s stripping out your custom CSS as well as some core WPML files related to session data sharing. While this does point toward a potential CORS issue, your logs haven’t confirmed it so far.
Please double-check whether session data is being passed correctly between domains, as described in this guide:
If this looks all good, I would eventually need to request temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP) to your site
– preferably to a test site where the problem has been replicated if possible –
in order to be of better help and check if some configurations might need to be changed
Your next answer will be private which means only you and I have access to it.
❌ Please backup your database and website ❌
✙ I would additionally need your permission to de-activate and re-activate Plugins and the Theme, and to change configurations on the site. This is also a reason the backup is really important.
✙ Please add the Links to the […] Edit Screen, the Page/Post where you insert the […] and the corresponding Front End Page/Screen
Best Regards,
Marcel
