  1. Hi,

I got an Email for keeping the current renewal pricing also for the future, even the prices will raise with the following release. I had a look on my account, the automatic renewal on Jan, 1st 2022 is still activated, but the pricing is not the mentioned $ 59, but a higher amount of $ 70. What to do to keep the current rate as mentioned in your Email?

    Email:
    Hi Gerd,

Prices for WPML are going up when WPML 4.5 is released later this summer, but you can lock in your current pricing!

To show our appreciation for being a loyal customer, your pricing for WPML will not change. You can continue to renew your account for $59, the same price you pay now.

Be sure to keep the payment information for your automatic renewals up to date to keep this discount. If your account expires in the future, you won’t be able to access support or update WPML. To do these things, you will need to purchase a new account at the increased price of $99.

See our blog for more information about this price change and some exciting upcoming features in WPML 4.5.

Thank you for your loyal business!
    Allison from the WPML team

    • Thank you. Just in case, we will double check your account and if there is any other reason for you to see a higher amount than due to VAT, we will get back to you.

  2. Hello,

on three occasions I have a country names drop down list which in English is nicely in alphabetical order. But in German it’s a different story. Like we have „Austria“ in English, but it’s „Österreich“ in German. In German „Austria“ then is in the „O“ section of the alphabet in an alphabetical order. Does your plugin take this into account and orders correctly based on the language choice or browser language detection?

    Thanks and regards!

    • Sorry for the misunderstanding. In case you are not a referring to your languages switcher order but any other WordPress list, WPML will use the same order parameter used in your WP query.
In case, you are referring to a different situation, could you please provide more details?
You can also post your query in German, maybe in that way another supporter will be able to help you better with your question.
      Thank you for your understanding.

  3. I don’t know how to explain it differently in any language as I explained quite simple what I mean… You are not aware of the fact that the alphabetical order of language names changes sometimes when you switch to another language?

    Example:

In English „Pear“ starts with a „P“- in an alphabetical order „Pear“ would show up in the list under „P“
In German „Pear“ is „Birne“, it starts with a „B“, so in an alphabetical order, translating from English to German, what was before „Pear“ under „P“ must then move up to „B“ for „Birne“.

I have three pages on my website where people can use a filter (each in a different setting but that’s just a side note) and choose a country. If they e.g. just want to view content from „Guinea“ then they choose „Guinea“ from the drop down. Now the problem is, as explained above with fruit names, same applies to country names. So my problem is, that I loose the alphabetical order of country names, which works quite fine in English, when the user switches to another language (e.g. „Austria“ in English starts with an „A“, but in German it is „Österreich“, so it should not show up under „A“ just translated, but with its translation to German, that menu item should also move down to „O“. I need the option to switch filter positions depending on the language needed.

Hope this makes it clear now. You got mixed up with „countries“ as you understood I was referring to „languages“ but no, I mean „country order“ for a custom filter, not „language order“ for the wpml filter.

    • Thank you for your your new details, I understand your situation now. However, the answer is the same. Those lists should be rendered by a WP query which uses a order_by parameter. In that case, WPML will use the same order parameter used in your original WP query and will render its translated results alphabetically.
      For example:
You have two fruits in French.
      – Banana
      – Pineapple
      In French it will display:
      – Ananas
      – Banana

  4. Thanks for the info. It’s a bit puzzling though that you mention that WP does this automatically. I had contacted Translationpress before with the same question and they didn’t mention that. They wrote me that what I needed was not possible. I haven’t tried it yet but I will and then I know.

    Markus

    • Hallo, vielen Dank für Ihr Interesse an WPML.

  6. Dear Madam or Sir,
I would like to use your plugin wpml along the plugin ‚the seo framework‘. On their website they say you have to disable the editor in order to be able to translate the meta title and descriptions (https://kb.theseoframework.com/kb/translation-plugin-compatibility/)

What does it mean? Can I translate the meta title/description and after that use the editor to translate the full page?

I never used WPML, so what I would like to know is:
Can I translate every meta title/description and use automatic translation (deepl) when using wpml + seo framework?

    Thank you very much!

  7. I know that wpml recommends that plugin. But as I dont use the plugin, i cant know exactly what it means when the translation editor should be disabled. That sounds to me as the both plugins dont work properly together, althoug you recommend it.
So you are saying that there is NO limitation when using wpml and the seo framework together? wpml says that they are in close contact with the seo plugin developers of the plugins they reccomend.
    Thank you very much

    • We are trying to figure out what that means to disable the editor. I’ll keep you posted. If you can ask the same question to the plugin authors it would be great too. Our compatibility team is in touch with the plugin authors but they don’t reply immediately.

    • Can you please let me know where exactly you have read that you need to disable the translation editor? I found this:

You cannot adjust a page’s robots-meta or Extension Manager’s meta when using the WPML Translation Editor feature. We recommend disabling this feature for pages you want to have more control over editing.

which is not about disabling the editor but this feature.

  8. Hallo,

    Lisa

  9. Hi,

I develop on localhost, then I copy the wordpress site with wpml to a project site for my customer to see whats done.
I have to do these steps a few times.
After all is fine I install the final site on the Customer domain.

Now I work for two different customers.

    So my question:
is the „multilingual CMS“ license O.K. or do I have to buy the „multilingual Agency“ License.

Thanks for your answer in advance.

    Bodo

    • Hello!
The CMS subscription is fine. It allows you to register up to 3 sites and gives you 3 extra keys for the development sites.

      Kind regards,

  10. Dear All,

We have purchased Ultimate Auction Pro for our website and are also very happy with the product.
Currently we have a problem with the translation of the page. Besides Loco Translate, we have Polylang installed.

We are currently using English and German. The auctions are displayed in both languages, but bidding is only possible in German.

When bidding in English, it is displayed in the backend in English but not in German. Can we solve this problem with another plugin, perhaps with WPML?

    Best regards
    Patrick Giesen

    • Hello Patrick,
I don’t think that WPML will solve your problem. This plugin hasn’t been tested by our COmpatibility Team and it isn’t present on our list of plugins compatible with WPML (for which we are in touch with the plugin authors to make all aspects of the plugins translatable with WPML). Everyone is welcome to buy WPML and test it for 30 days and then use our refund policy to request a refund but in this case, I think that the chance that it will work as you expect is slim. Plugin-specific logic like bidding typically requires special attention and making the plugin compatible with WPML in cooperation with the author.

  11. Dear all,

I have set up WPML and it works great.
Unfortunately I have problems with the shopping cart.

Everything is translated cleanly but I can only buy the item in the German language. If I complete the process in English, the item is posted in the backend but remains visible as available in the frontend.

What is the reason for this?

    Best regards

    • Hello Patrick,
in the meantime, we have contacted the authors of the plugin and they confirmed that they are compatible. I will pass over your feedback to our compatibility team and ask your question but I cannot promise to get you the answer. Normally we use the support forum to ask in-depth technical questions whenever something is not working as expected. I encourage you to do the same.

  12. Guten Tag,
