WPML Support may ask you to enable interaction tracking to better diagnose admin-side issues and speed up troubleshooting. This feature helps us understand how WPML behaves in your site’s admin area, so we can identify and resolve issues more quickly.
Where to Find This Option
You can turn on interaction tracking from your site’s admin dashboard:
- Go to WPML → Support and click the Troubleshooting link.
- On the Troubleshooting page, scroll down to the PostHog Integration section and turn its toggle on.
You can turn it off again at any time.
How Interaction Tracking Works
When switched on, WPML will temporarily record what happens on WPML’s admin screens only. None of the other admin screens are ever recorded.
It helps us better understand your experience by capturing:
- Clicks and interactions
- Page navigation within WPML admin areas
- Mouse movements and scrolling
- Relevant form input (but never passwords or sensitive personal info)
What’s Not Recorded
- Nothing outside WPML admin pages
- No tracking of your public site or frontend
- No saved content from WordPress posts or pages
- No passwords or secure data
- No data shared with third parties
This feature will not slow down your site or your browser.
How This Helps
Session tracking gives our support team a clear view of what you’re experiencing: what you clicked, what loaded, and where things might have gone wrong.
Instead of asking for multiple screenshots or trying to guess what happened, we can go straight to the root of the problem and guide you to a fix faster.
