Overview of the issue

In some server setups, it is possible to get logged out and encounter editing issues when editing with Elementor in a secondary language. This happens when the URL format is set to display languages in different domains.

Workaround

In some cases, the following steps fix the issue:

  1. Go to the WPML Languages page
  2. Re-save the multi-domain setup with the Validate checkbox selected.
  3. Go to the Settings → Permalinks page and re-save click the Save Changes button to save the permalink options.

Alternatively, you can try to log into the secondary language domain and edit from there.

  1. Any updates on this situation? It’s even getting worse and there is no way to update the other languages currently.

    • Hi Niko, this ticket is correctly assigned to our developers, we are finishing testing the next release which is needed to adjust to the new WordPress and PHP versions and right after that, I’ll make sure it’s handled. Sorry for the long waiting time.

      • Hopefully, this kind of thing doesn’t happen that much. This bug has been around for over a month. We had to start a transfer from a better Nginx server to a more expensive one that is running on Apache. Black Friday is coming and e-commerce stores need to run and work as they should. Over a month waiting on a SERIOUS BUG (Serious when you can’t edit the other languages) issue is totally out of the question. Had a ticket posted earlier about this behavior: https://wpml.org/forums/topic/elementor-nginx-and-domain-per-language-issue/

        • This issue was fixed and released with WPML 4.4.5 – I am sorry for the delay in replying, if this is still not working for you please let us know.
