Reported for: WPML Multilingual CMS 3.1.8.3

Resolved in: 3.1.8.4

Overview of the issue

When using a WordPress install that is not based on the English version of WordPress or when using a String Language setting that differs from the Default Language setting of a site,

translating labels does not work.

The translation for a label will initially be saved from the WPML -> Taxonomy Translation screen, but not be visible anywhere. On reload of the screen it disappears from the Taxonomy Translation Screen too.

Label translation necessitates the use of English as String Language as well as Admin Language.

Workaround

Option 1

Set the String Language of your site to the same value as the Default Language.

Option 2

Should this not produce the desired results, please set

define ('WPLANG', '');

in you wp-config.php. Unfortunately this means you having to re-import some translated String via the WPML -> Theme and Plugin Localization menu.

This issue should get fixed in a next release.
