Unexpected redirection on root page

Overview of the issue

On the root page, and if the browser language is different from the default language, the user is redirected to the browser language version of the site.

Example: if the website’s default language is Italian and a user access the root page with a browser in English, he will be redirected to the English version of the site. This is not expected since we have a root page.

This issue happens only with the following setup:

1. WPML -> Languages -> Language URL format set to Different languages in directories and Use directory for default language enabled.
2. WPML -> Languages -> Browser language redirect enabled.

Workaround

At the moment, the only way to avoid redirection is to completely disable the redirection feature in WPML -> Languages -> Browser language redirect
