Solution: To resolve the issue with automatically generated page URLs, you can try the following solution:
1. In your WPML settings, switch from the "Auto-generate from title (default)" option to the "Translate (this will include the slug in the translation and not create it automatically from the title)" option.
2. This will allow you to translate the page URL manually and not have it generated automatically.
This is the technical support forum for WPML - the multilingual WordPress plugin.
Everyone can read, but only WPML clients can post here. WPML team is replying on the forum 6 days per week, 22 hours per day.
I do product uploads by duplication quite often.
After the language translations has been done, I have noticed that in the language variations, the duplicated product name remains in the search-friendly term, even though I change it in the base language. An extra term also appears 'copy'. (masolat).
Unfortunately, this is why the url is also not correct.
Good afternoon! You're using the Auto-generate from the title (default) option from the Page URL. You may try the second option, "Translate (this will include the slug in the translation and not create it automatically from the title)", which will allow you to translate the URL and won't generate the hidden link or hidden link.
This way, you can manually translate your page URL so it won't affect your SEO.
I hope this information is helpful. I look forward to hearing back from you soon.
One more little thing. When I translated a product, it goes into the drafts first and it can be published from there and only then appears on the site. Is this normal ?
Best regards
Peter

Good afternoon! Please double-check and ensure you have set the Document status to "Same as the original document" in the WPML > Settings > Translated documents options.
If you have the same settings, but the document is still going to draft after translation, please let me know so I can split it into a new ticket and begin a further investigation.
I hope this helps. I look forward to your response.
