Problem:
I installed the plugin using the WPML installer and registered it per instructions. Immediately after installation, the error message "WPML plugin cannot connect to wmpl.org" appeared. I checked all other relevant forum topics and tried all suggestions. I cleaned the cache. I deactivated all plugins (except WPML). I deleted suggested database entries. I unregistered and registered the site four (4) times and every time I registered the new key. The site appears as "registered" in the Commercial tab. I don't know what else to do.
Solution:
- Make sure to have a complete backup from your database and website
- Deactivate and exclude the existing WPML plugin and add-ons
- Install and activate WPML again. You can download it from your account: https://wpml.org/account/downloads/
- Now go to https://wpml.org/account/sites/
- Find the key of your affected site and erase it
- Create a new key and copy it
- From the WordPress dashboard, navigate to Plugins -> Add New -> Commercial, Click on "unregister the site" on the right top next to Check for updates
- In this same plugins panel, click under the "Register" button below WPML plugin
- Add your new Site Key copied above
Problem:
