Hello!

I have installed WPML recently, spent some time playing around
and found some things are goning on when i am enabling WPML plugin.
I've set up to use english as additional language for domain hidden link and hidden link for russian version.
I've translated menu and some pages (for instance "about me" ) and all links at menu looks good.
However when i am trying to open the URL hidden link (which is coresponded to menu "about me") the WPML plugin does redirection to russian version (with code 301 permanently moved ) and as result i am getting URL hidden link and at the end 404 page is not found.

When i had disabled WPML plugin then no redirection was happanning and i could use URLs like hidden link directly.

Additionally I don't have anything in my .httpaccess file (so i don't do any manual redirections).

Here is my questions :
1. Why it does this redirection (what is the point of configuring different domains for different languages if ti does such redirection to the primary site)?
2. Why it does not find that page in primary (the page with that code does exist in WP)?
3. How to fix it (how it suppose to be working)?

Thanks in advance!

Hi.

It seems that in Settings -> Permalinks you have set the permalinks structure to the 'Plain' structure (first option). Is that correct? If so them WPML cannot work with this permalinks structure. You need to set it to 'Post name' or any of the other structures. In all our sites, we’re using /%year%/%monthnum%/%postname%/ and it works. Please see our minimum requirements page where you can read about this requirement.
https://wpml.org/home/minimum-requirements/

**** Important! Please make a full site backup (files and DB) before you proceed with those steps****

Please let me know if this information is helping you solve the problem.

If you are going to need more help from me on this issue, could you please share your Debug information with me?
You can read the detailed explanation about it here.
http://wpml.org/faq/provide-debug-information-faster-support
The debug info will give me a lot of information about how your site is configured and will help me understand the source of the problem.

Thanks,
Itamar.

Thank you Itamar for your help.
Sorry for late response (i have very busy month).

Your suggestion solved the first part of issue with rederiction.

However i am still getting 404 for the permanent link of translated page.
It can't find page by translated domain hidden link and it does redirection to the primary domain page by primary link hidden link

I've attachted debug info.

Thanks again!

Hi.

I'm glad that the first issue is solved now.

Currently, I do not get redirected from hidden link to hidden link. I do get a 404 for hidden link. But I can see the page here:
hidden link
It looks like something with the settings on your DNS server might be wrong.
Have you configured your server according to our tutorial here?
https://wpml.org/2016/04/use-wpml-different-domains-per-language/

If you go to WPML -> Languages -> Language URL format, do you get any error in the 'A different domain per language' section if you re-save the settings?

Regards,
Itamar.
