I could not login. I received this message:

"Cannot log in because WordFence 2FA authentication module is detected, but it does not work properly with the WP STAGING login form. Error message: FOUT: de opgegeven gebruikersnaam of wachtwoord is niet juist. Je wachtwoord vergeten?"

Can you please check?

The image was shared publicly, with your credentials. So I deleted it. I recommend you change this user credentials on the production site at least, as the website might be compromised due to access. I was able to log in.

I forwarded access to 2nd tier and will get back to you as soon as I hear from them.

Thanks for sharing. We are still analyzing. It's been tricky to find what's going on. We were able to fix the issue on copies of your website, but on your server, the solutions do not work - we are not entirely sure why and are investigating. I'll update you. Thanks for the patience and cooperation so far.

Hey there,

2nd tier asked for a few verifications about your server:

1. Are there any symlinks?
2. The nginx.conf for this domain (is there a single one, or is there a separate configuration for the subfolder? Maybe a proxy?)
3. How is nginx running PHP configured (configuration?)

Please let me know if you can provide us with that information.

1. There are no symlinks in use.
2. The website runs on a single WordPress installation, without any subfolders or subdirectory structure for languages. There’s no separate nginx configuration for the /fr/ language — it all runs from the root domain.
3. PHP is handled through standard php-fpm with nginx. It’s a basic setup on a managed hosting environment (no reverse proxies or custom routing).

Let me know if you need any specific logs or tests on my side.

Hello there,

On local copies of the website, we were able to solve the issue. Nonetheless, the fix is not working on your staging website. After analyzing in more detail, we suspect that the fix is not working due to how the staging is set up. To confirm that, we need you to test a few things:

1. First, create a sub domain, like staging.serviessen-onlineshop.be
2. Install the stagin website there
3. On Settings > Permalinks switch the language of the product category base to your default language NL, instead of English;
4. On WPML > Settings > Taxonomy translation, change the base to 'product-category', then re-save the translations, restore the original base (prod-categorie) and re-save the translations;

If that works on staging, you can reproduce it on production. Alternatively, you can test that on production, if you have a backup and wish to. Let me know.
