I have translated the whole plugin "The Events Calendar" (in String translations), but there are still 2 word remaining untranslated in the frontend, but in WPML they are already everywhere translated. You can see the issu on this site: hidden link - the Word "Keyword" should you see like "Klíčové slovo" and "Akce FOR Listopad 2019" should be "Akce na měsíc Listopad 2019". Please help...

Thank you,
Tomas

Hello,

Thank you for contacting WPML Support. I took a detailed look in your website and noticed all the occurencies of 'keywords' for the events calendar plugin seem to be translated properly, so, we might have a new compatibility issue here which makes some strings unabled to be translated, in order to confirm it, please, follow these procedures:

  • Install the theme/plugin in a clean installation and reproduce the problem in this new installation. So we can isolate it and do some testing without the interference of server settings or other plugins
  • After this, I will check the problem in this new installation and look for a quick solution
    If I can not find a solution, I will forward the problem to our compatibility team.
  • The compatibility team will do some more testing and will contact the product author to fix the issue

I created a test website with a clean WordPress install. You can access it through this link:
hidden link - Through this link you will be automatically logged in.

Please upload the (theme/plugin) to this test install, setup it the same way as in your website (using the same options) and create some dummy content to reproduce the issue. Please note that we only need the (theme/plugin) and the related functionality, you don't need to setup a entire website or clone your existing site. The fewer plugins the better.

After that, please send us clear steps on how to see/reproduce the issue on this test install. We will run some tests.

Please, let me know when you are ready, thank you for your collaboration, have a nice day.

Hello, thank you very much,

i wanted to transfer my site and replicate it via "All in One WP Migration" plugin the whole site to the wordpress installation you provided me, but i was not able to get through the limit 256MB (the backup has 390MB).

Could you please provide me FTP acces or rise the upload limit to 400MB?

Thank you.

Hello Tomas,

Thank you for the updates. You don't need to move your entire site for a compatibility test, instead you just need the following:

1 - Login from the provided url and setup WPML with a first language and a secondary language as you did in your webite;

2 - Install your current theme;

3 - Install the 'The Events Calendar' plugin;

4 - Setup the event calendar the way you did in your website so we can recreate the issue mentioned in your request;

In order to get all the server access details, including the FTP access, try the following:

1 - Click this one click login url: hidden link

2 - Go to WP Sandbox menu and get the FTP details from there.

Please, let me know if you need any other detail and assistance, have a nice day.

Hello Marcos,

I have everything set up now - under the installation you provided me I have installed the theme, theme settings from my site as well as the plugin The Events Calendar - you can see the situation with my two untranslated keywords (which is exactly the same like on my live site) now under this link: hidden link.

Thank you for helping me and have a nice day

Tomas

Hello,

Thank you for your continued patience. I got some more details from our second level support, please try the following:

1 - Connect to your website via FTP and browse to the 'wp-content/languages/plugins directory, then delete the following files:

  • the-events-calendar-cs_CZ.mo
  • the-events-calendar-cs_CZ.po

The reason for that is to force WPML to read the mo files from the wp-content/plugins/the-events-calendar/lang directory instead. This approach works fine at: hidden link.

IMPORTANT: Please, note, a backup is required for security reasons and to avoid any data loss, you can use the https://wordpress.org/plugins/backupwordpress/ plugin for these backup needs.

2 - I also recommend you to delete all the current 'The Events Calendar' related strings at your WordPress Dashboard > WPML > String Translation settings.

Please, let me know if it works for you. Have a nice day.

Hello Marcos,

Hello,

I closed my ticket #4914847, but I have to reopen it again. I found out, that the two keywords will translate after delete .po and .mo files as suggested, but in a few minutes the files are back on the same place and the error persist. Please help - how can I block the "autorestore" event..

Thank you in advance,

Tomas
