Background of the issue:
I am trying to use the latest ACF Pro and WPML on our Spanish and Chinese pages. The ACF fields are missing in these sub-languages, although the data still displays on the front end. I cannot change data in those fields since they do not show. In Settings, all the ACF fields are set to copy once. The issue can be seen on this page: hidden link
Symptoms:
ACF fields are missing in sub-languages, preventing data changes in the backend. The 'Ver El Video' 3 column section, which is an ACF field, does not display in the backend.
Questions:
Why are the ACF fields missing in the Spanish and Chinese pages?
How can I disable auto translations to resolve this issue?
One screen grab shows all the extra ACF fields on the English Page. THe other shows the front end 3 columns and the backend where they are missing.
I can't see ACFML and String Translation in your plugin list. You can't translate ACF fields without them.
Additionally, acf-field-group, acf-post-type and acf-taxonomy post types are set as fallback on the default language in WPML > Settings > Post types translations while they must be set as not translatable.
I logged into our account and downloaded the OTGS Installer. I click install but this plugin does not install. It shows and installed notice at the top but the plugin is still deactivated.
I looked for and downloaded ACFML. I installed this plugin but it doesnt fix anything. The plugin name is Disable Sync Repeater Option for ACFML.
String translation is not a plugin in the directory. Since the OTGS plugin doesnt work, I dont know where I can find that.
Lastly, the DOcumentation for ACF link goes to a page with descriptions for first time or updates. THere are no instructions or clickable links on the page. Since the OTGS plugin doesnt work, this did not help at all.
Click "Download WPML manually" at the bottom of the page.
Download "Advanced Custom Fields Multilingual" (ACFML) and "WPML String Translation".
Install the plugin in WordPress.
Active the plugins.
If you use the WordPress Editor for creating the translations:
- Go to Advanced Custom Fields field group settings and make sure that all your field groups use the setting "Different fields across languages".
Let me know if further assistance is needed.
Best regards
Andreas
