How to translate ACF fields on an options page?


A. Translate the ACF field group as described here.

B. Then use the instruction on the following link on how to translate the fields on the options page itself.

Please note that the fields on options page cannot be copied to the translation. You need to add the fields manually.

I am trying to:
Show Option page content in front end

Link to a page where the issue can be seen:
hidden link

I expected to see:
Social Icons in the header for other languages also

Instead, I got:
its showing empty

I've checked things on your site.
Can you please confirm that the issue is with the 'Social Links' fields group?
If so, then I think the repeater field is causing this issue. I'm not sure if they work correctly on the options page.
Is it ok for you to consider to switch to regular files for this options page?
If so can you please try to see if it solves this issue?

Thanks for the reply, Yes its all about Social links which is in Option Page. And yes I agree its repeaters. so it will be easy for me to access and manage the data.

Could you help me out As its common setup for all the page, I cant use it in single page/post. We cant predict how many social icons are going to be added in future and it will be easy if we manage using repeaters.

And it will be good if I get live chat support instead waiting for long time

along with this, many of the other pages too not showing content. Like About Us Page etc.. If it is live chat support I can learn how to do that and it will not be problem for enabling this for other languages.

Hi and thanks for the extra details.

I'm sorry, but I have no option to convert a ticket into a live chat.

I've investigated the issue further and found out that some procedures were not followed correctly. Indeed, with fields on the options page, the procedure is a little bit different than from other cases.

A. You need to translate the field group. You did translate the Social Link field group into French, but it was not translated correctly. It needs to be translated without the Translation Editor and by first duplicating the field group to the other language. Please read about it our documentation here.

B. As I've mentioned, there is also a different way to translate field on options pages. This way is described here.

Please note that the fields will not be copied to the other language of the options page. You would need to add the fields manually to the options page on the other language.

When I followed the correct procedure on your site, I managed to make the social links show on the French page here hidden link.

Please proceed with the same method also for the Portuguese and Spanish languages.
If you need different links and icons, you can change them on the other languages options page.
