I am trying to: duplicate header and footer pages

Link to a page where the issue can be seen: hidden link

I expected to see: A duplicate of the home page in the main language

Instead, I got: Advanced custom fields not being replicated

Hi.

Can you please confirm that you are following our instruction on how to work with WPMl and the ACF plugin?
You can see the instructions here.
https://wpml.org/documentation/related-projects/translate-sites-built-with-acf/
What seems explicitly related to your issue is this part 'Translate option pages'.
https://wpml.org/documentation/related-projects/translate-sites-built-with-acf/#translate-option-pages

Also, by looking at the debug info that you have attached I can see that your server WP Memory Limit is set to 40M.
Our recommendations are to have the following as minimal requirements:
- PHP 5.6 and above (this OK with your installation) with a WP Memory Limit of at least 128MB and more if possible.
- MySQL 5.6 and above (this OK with your installation).
Please follow this link for detailed documentation:
https://wpml.org/home/minimum-requirements/
Is it possible for you to change those to the minimum requirement?
You may need to contact your hosting provider for that.
Meeting those baseline requirements is most critical before starting to debug and sometimes solves issues like you experiencing.
Most important is to raise the WP Memory Limit.
Please try to raise it before you contact your hosting company.
You can try and do it from the wp-config.php file in your WordPress installation.
Insert this code in that file.

/** Memory Limit */
define('WP_MEMORY_LIMIT', '256M');
define( 'WP_MAX_MEMORY_LIMIT', '256M' );

Add it before this line:
/* That's all, stop editing! Happy blogging. */

Could you please perform that procedure and see if it help?

Thanks,
Itamar.

Thanks, Itamar. I'll ask the developer to increase the memory limit and will contact you back when that's done.
Also, I will go through the instructions again, but I don't see any the options for Translation Preferences in the fields.
Best regards,
Leo

Hi Itamar,
Still waiting for the webmaster to increase the memory limit. Additionally, we'll be moving the translation process to a staging server.
Meanwhile, could you please let me know if there's a way to duplicate the header created with ACF by exporting it to XLIFF and translating with a CAT tool, as we do with posts? I don't see that option in the instructions you sent.
Thanks,
Leo

Hi, Leo.

If the header strings that were created with ACF are showing in the String Translation section, then you can export them as .po files which can also be handled by CAT tools.
https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/string-translation/#import-export-po
If you can't find the strings in the String Translation section of this is not a right solution for you, then please tell me the steps on how to create a header with ACF, and I'll try to see if it is possible to achieve that.

Thanks,
Itamar.

Hi Itamar,
Thanks for your reply.
I believe the issue is related to the theme. I can't find the strings to export as PO. Furthermore, when I change from the custom theme to Twenty Nineteen, the ACF content is not displayed.
I don't have FTP access to the site, but I've managed to create a copy with Duplicator.
Would that help troubleshooting on your side?
Thanks!

Hi, Leo and thanks for trying my suggestions.

By looking at the debug information, I can see that you are using the 'Humane Society of Manatee County' theme by Rough and Ready Media. I'm not sure if it is a custom theme or child them of another theme.
Can this theme be found on our compatible themes list here?
https://wpml.org/documentation/theme-compatibility/
Is it a custom theme?
Can you please send me the link to the theme's website?
Is it available publicly on the net for download or purchase?

I need to know this because of our support policy, which you can see here.
https://wpml.org/purchase/support-policy/
Under the 'Fix Your Custom Themes' title it says the following:
We’ll answer any question and help you get it right, but we can’t take your entire theme and debug it.

If the theme is public, then the next debugging procedure would be to try it on a clean WordPress installation.

I'll wait for your reply to see how we can get on with this issue.

Thanks,
Itamar.

Hi Itamar,
The theme is a custom one, not publicly available.
I understand what you're saying. Please feel free to close this ticket and I'll open another one with specific questions if/when I have more information.
Best regards,
Leo
