Tell us what you are trying to do?

I'd like to add the language switcher to the menu element that appear in a custom element that's in the header of my site (it's not a typical menu element)

Here's a video of where I'd like to add the button. The button is not in a menu. It is a custom element in Thrive Themes
hidden link

As you can see in this video, there is no WP menu to add the widget to:
hidden link

Is there any documentation that you are following?
https://wpml.org/forums/topic/how-to-use-wpml-with-thrive-architect-from-thrivethemes/

Is there a similar example that we can see?

What is the link to your site?

Hi,

Welcome to WPML Support forum.

You can make use of language switcher shortcode. Please check this documentation:

https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/language-setup/language-switcher-options/#using-wpml-shortcodes

Please make sure to enable/customize Custom language switchers at WPML > Languages > Custom language switchers

Kind regards,
Dennis

Dennis,

I don't even know where to add the code.

All I want is to have a dropdown with Français and English in the header that appears seemlessly next to "nous joindre" with no flag.

Where should I add the code and what code should I use?

Hi,

Thank you for your reply.

I noticed in your video that you have added a thrive page element and you can put a shortcode on it. As described in our documentation:

https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/language-setup/language-switcher-options/#using-wpml-shortcodes

, you can use the shortcode:

[wpml_language_selector_widget]

to display the language switcher based on the options set in the Custom Language Switchers section.

Hope this helps.

Kind regards,
Dennis
