I am trying to: Add Svenska kronor (SEK) to my site that has EUR as default.

Link to a page where the issue can be seen: hidden link

I expected to see: The prices changing from EUR to SEK when I go from /de, /es, /en to /sv

Instead, I got: The prices in EUR on all languages.

Hello,
Thank you for contacting WPML support. I will do my best to help you solve this issue.

Please go to Woocommerce -> Woocommerce Multilingual -> Multi-currency tab (same as the attached image in your message) -> Use the checkboxes to select in which languages the currencies will be shown.

For more information I recommend you to visit this link where you will find our official documentation on this subject: https://wpml.org/documentation/related-projects/woocommerce-multilingual/multi-currency-support-woocommerce/#configuring-currencies-per-language

Kind regards,
Carlos

Please see my new attached image.

The currency is changing now, when I change the language. So that part works fine now.

But I am not able to only switch the currency. For example if I want to see the prices in euro but keep the language in Swedish... Is that not possible?

Hi there,

If you desire to set the prices in Euros and keep the language in Swedish then you need to activate Euros for Swedish language.

Please visit the link provided in my previous message where you will find our official documentation regarding this subject.

Best regards,
Carlos

I don't think you understand me!

When I have the options like image 2 (currency.JPG) the currency changes to SEK when I change the language to Swedish. That is fine...
BUT! If I choose the options in image 1 (default currencies.JPG) the currency doesn't change when I change the language. And as you can see I have set the default currency for Swedish to SEK.

I WANT:
Be able to select currency independently on language. Be able to select language independently on currency.
When I choose Swedish it should set the currency to SEK automatically. But after that it should be possible to change to EUR and keep the Swedish language.

I have read the documentation. It doesn't help me

It's like the plugin overrides my default currency values and just set the currency to EUR no matter what

Hi there,
Thank you very mch for your explanation.

With this last messages I understood what is your goal. It seems -unfortunately- that for now you need custom programming work which is beyond the scope of our support.

At this point I would suggest you consider contacting one of our certified partners from this link:
http://wpml.org/documentation/support/wpml-contractors/

Before doing so please have a look also here:
http://wpml.org/documentation/support/wpml-contractors/guidelines-for-people-looking-for-consulting-help/

You will get the custom assistance you need to get on with your project.

Thank you very much for your understanding.
Best regards,
Carlos

I can't believe this isn't possible. It should be a standard option...

Can I vote for this "feature" somewhere?

Hi there,
I just got an answer from our 2nd tier specialists and after read the ticket again it seems I made a mistake. Please accept my apologies.

In your previous messages you wrote that you wanted to: "Be able to select currency independently on language. Be able to select language independently on currency.
When I choose Swedish it should set the currency to SEK automatically. But after that it should be possible to change to EUR and keep the Swedish language."

This should be possible within the options in the screenshot you attached earlier. That's why I would like to request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to your site to take better look at the issue. You will find the needed fields for this below the comment area when you log in to leave your next reply. The information you will enter is private which means only you and I can see and have access to it.

Our Debugging Procedures

I will be checking various settings in the backend to see if the issue can be resolved. Although I won't be making changes that affect the live site, it is still good practice to backup the site before providing us access. In the event that we do need to debug the site further, I will duplicate the site and work in a separate, local development environment to avoid affecting the live site.

I apologize one more time.
Looking forward to your answer.
Regards,
Carlos

Hi,
Thank you very much for the information provided.

In this case it was a with the currencies displayed for an specific language and the default currency for a language.

If you go to Woocommerce -> Woocommerce Multilingual -> Multi-currency tab -> You will see that I activated all currencies for Swedish language and leaved the SEK as a default currency at the bottom of the table. Now if you visit a product in Swedish the default currency will be SEK but you will be able to switch currencies too. If this is the behavior you need, then you only need to activate all currencies for all languages.

Looking forward to your answer.
Best regards,
Carlos

It seems like it works perfectly when I do it logged in as administrator. But as soon as I logout or try it in another browser, it doesn't work at all. It has totally its own life... :-/

Hi,

I would like to ask you to follow this steps:
- Create a full backup of the site.
- Switch for a moment to a WordPress default theme like Twenty Seventeen.

Does the issue persists with the default WordPress theme?

Regards,
Carlos

Hi,

I can try this when there is a moment without trafic.

I found this ticket and was thinking if the problem has something to do with my cache plugin.
https://wpml.org/forums/topic/currency-switcher-not-working-on-default-english-pages/

But disabling my cache plugin will slow my site... Is it possible to make some exclusions? I don't know how WPML does the currency changes.

Hi there,

The plugin 'WP Fastest Cache' doesn't appear in our list of compatible plugins, which means that out compatibility team hasn't validated it yet. You can find all of our compatible plugins in this page: https://wpml.org/documentation/plugins-compatibility/

I recommend you to temporarily disable the cache plugin and double check if the issue persists. In case the issue persists, then change the theme to a default WordPress theme for a moment and double check again.

Regards,
Carlos
