This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
You are trying to re-register your site to use pay-as-you-go translation credits and encountering an error stating 'Unable to register: Site key not matching'. Despite the key matching what is in your account, it shows as 'Inactive' in the WPML account, and you cannot activate it from the site's dashboard.
Solution:
We recommend updating your WPML plugin and add-ons to the latest version, 4.9.4, to ensure you have all the recent bug fixes and improvements. You can check the latest released versions under My Account -> Downloads on the WPML site.
If the problem persists after updating, please provide us with temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to your site, preferably to a test site where the problem has been replicated, so we can assist you more effectively. Ensure you back up your database before proceeding.

If this solution does not apply because it might be outdated or not relevant to your case, we highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If you still need help, please open a new support ticket at WPML support forum.

Am trying to re-register the site to leverage the pay-as-you-go translation credits assigned to it. Keep getting "Unable to register: Site key not matching", even though the key matches what I have for it in my account. It shows "Inactive" in WPML account, but I cannot activate it from the site's dashboard, either.

Thank you for contacting WPML support.

If you are using a WordPress Multisite network, you only need to register the main site. The subsites will be registered automatically as part of the network.

If you would like to use automatic translation on a specific subsite, you will need to sign up for Pay-As-You-Go on that subsite. This allows the subsite to have its own automatic translation payment method and credit usage.

More information can be found here:

Andrey:

I tried following the instructions at https://wpml.org/documentation/automatic-translation/automatic-translation-subscription-for-multiple-sites/#how-to-connect-your-sites, but when I access my dev.signasur.ca's (master site in the multisite network) "Payments & Maintenance tab" (Step 2), it threw the following error:

"There is a problem connecting to automatic translation. Please check your internet connection and try again in a few minutes. If you continue to see this message, please contact our support team."

How can I otherwise copy the migration code?

Thank you for your feedback.

I suspect this may be caused by a conflict with a third-party plugin.

Could you please temporarily disable all plugins except WPML and its add-ons, then check whether the issue persists?

If possible, please also check this with any default theme.

This test will help determine whether the problem is related to WPML or caused by another plugin on the site.

Before making any changes, please ensure that you back up your database first.

Andrey:

I deactivated all plugins on dev.signasur.ca except for WPML ones, and also reverted my theme to "Twenty-Twenty-Five".

Unfortunately, the WPML "Payments & Maintenance" tab still fails to load anything (see attached).

I do have some pending WooCommerce and WPML updates, mind you, so perhaps that's worth a try?

Thank you for your feedback.

I noticed that WPML plugins are requesting updates. Please update your WPML plugin and add-ons to the latest version, 4.9.4, to benefit from the latest bug fixes and improvements. This may not resolve your problem; however, we need to work with the latest code to troubleshoot the issue most effectively.

You can check the latest released versions under "My Account -> Downloads" on this site. Instructions to update can be found here: http://wpml.org/faq/install-wpml/

If the issue persists after an update, I need to request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to your site—preferably to a test site where the problem has been replicated, if possible—to better help. When you log in to leave your next reply, you will find the needed fields below the comment area. The information you will enter is private, meaning only you and I can see and access it.

Please remember to backup your database before you proceed.
