Background of the issue:
I'm trying to translate manually, with different design, the Divi's theme builder. In setup, I have Divi Theme Builder as 'Translate'.

Symptoms:
If I change the main language theme builder design and content, all the other languages clone the same text.

Questions:
How can I translate the Divi Theme Builder with different designs for each language?
Why do changes in the main language theme builder affect all other languages?

Hi,

To resolve this, you’ll need to disable the WPML Translation Editor for the page. This can be done from the right sidebar. Detailed instructions with screenshots are available here: Using Different Translation Editors for Different Pages.

Marcel

Hi Marcel,
but elements in Divi Theme Builder are not pages. You set the global header and footer, for all pages, and also you can create different header and footer for selected pages. You set in Divi Theme Builder screen.

Thank you!

Divi treats the Theme Builder section as regular templates, so you might be able to access the sidebar through the Templates area. If you have a staging site available, I’d be happy to investigate further.

I would like to request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to your site to take a better look at the issue. It would be better to a testing site where the issue is replicated.

You will find the needed fields for this below the comment area when you log in to leave your next reply. The information you will enter is private which means only you and I can see and have access to it.

Maybe I'll need to replicate your site locally. For this, I’ll need to temporarily install a plugin called “Duplicator” or "All in One WP Migration" on your site. This will allow me to create a copy of your site and your content. Once the problem is resolved I will delete the local site. Let me know if this is ok with you.

IMPORTANT
-Please make a backup of site files and database before providing us access.
-If you do not see the wp-admin/FTP fields this means your post & website login details will be made PUBLIC. DO NOT post your website details unless you see the required wp-admin/FTP fields. If you do not, please ask me to enable the private box. The private box looks like this:

Hi,

let’s try the following steps:

1) Open hidden link">this link and select an option, such as "Body Template". Hover over a title and click "Edit".

2) For example, the second link will be hidden link">this one, which loads hidden link">this template. On this page, you can try turning off the WPML Translation Editor and switching to the WordPress Editor.

Could you please confirm if this works for you?

Best regards,
Marcel

Hi,
I'm sorry but it doesn't work. I've tried with Footer Template, switching to the WordPress Editor. And still the same. I've saved a video

It seems to be wrong just with footer templates, because body templates is no problem. For example, here a Body Template is used.

Thank you!

Hi,

When you click "Edit" and activate "Use WPML Editor," you go out of the screen. If stay there and click the "+" icon, you can manually translate using Divi. Have you tried this approach?

If so, unfortunately, there isn't a built-in way to adjust this behavior. You may need to develop a custom solution to modify the template IDs when switching between languages.

Best regards,
Marcel

Hi Marcel,
yes I've used this other approach, without luck.

Sorry, but I think this is a built-in option, to have different versions of Divi Theme Builder in different languages. Is the same I've got in all my websites, and it works (and it worked here since last WPML update). Why is not working here? Is my configuration OK? I say because WPML documentation is a bit confussing about how to make Divi Theme Builder translatable.

Thank you,

Hi,

Could it be that you used the language switcher inside this link before performing the translation? Currently, it seems the number of layouts defined for the secondary language does not match the primary language.

Best regards,
Marcel

Hi Marcel,
maybe... I don't remember, as I tried a lot of things before asking you. Now I've cleaned the WPML's Editor Translations, and tried to solve it in Theme Builder, but it doens't work.

How is the right form of translating Divi Theme Builder? WPML's Editor or Language Switcher?

Thanks!

Hi,

The correct approach is to use WPML Translation Management, where you can select the specific templates for translation.

Marcel
