I am trying to: Translate my website to Chinese Version with WPML, the theme I use is Norebro Child, I followed the tutorial on Youtube step by step and the outcome is not incompatible with the English Version. Also, I couldn't translate the portfolio section on my website but I can not find translate option in the portfolio section,
Link to a page where the issue can be seen:hidden link

I expected to see: Exactly the same layout as the English version

Hi and thank you for contacting WPML Support!

I will be happy to help you with this.

The portfolio custom post type might not be set to translate.

Can you please follow the steps from the link below (just the part related to the portfolio post type) and see if that solves the issue for you and the button for translating them appears after you do that?

I will be waiting for your response.

Please let me know how that goes.

Kind regards,
Mihai Apetrei

Can you please delete the translated version that you created now and then try to use the duplication method in the link below:

That should normally duplicate the current portfolio into the other language while keeping the same layout and content.

Also, there might be custom fields included in the theme that you might need to translate, too, so that you have the exact same look (for example the image on the half of the screen on the right side might be added into a custom field that's not set as translatable yet).

Here is more information about translating custom fields, too:

However, please try first the duplication method.

If this still doesn't work it might be due to the fact that the theme is not part of our official WPML-compatible themes directory here ( so what that means is that it was not tested by one of our developers yet and we can't confirm that it is WPML-compatible.

The theme might still be fully compatible, partially compatible or totally incompatible - there's not a rule of thumb that when a theme is missing from our official directory, it's not compatible with WPML - most of them that are missing from the list are either compatible or partially compatible.

If after you follow the steps above, things still don't work, I recommend that you contact the plugin authors and recommend them to join our 'Go Global' program ( where our Compatibility developers will help them make their plugin 100% compatible with WPML for free.

I hope that you will find this answer helpful! 🙂

Kind regards,
