This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
You are experiencing inconsistent capitalization in translations from Dutch to English using WPML, particularly in titles, subtitles, and some paragraphs.
Solution:
We have identified that this issue arises because the Translation Editor in WPML sometimes misinterprets certain paragraphs as titles, leading to unwanted capitalization. Currently, our developers are aware of this problem and are actively working on a solution. Unfortunately, there is no immediate workaround available at this moment.

If this solution becomes irrelevant due to updates or if it does not apply to your specific case, we recommend opening a new support ticket. We also highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. Background of the issue:
I am trying to achieve consistent and correct capitalization in translations from Dutch to English using WPML. The issue can be seen on this page: hidden link

Symptoms:
The translation capitalizes most nouns in titles and subtitles, and sometimes all words in entire paragraphs. This inconsistency occurs mainly in the first 2-3 paragraphs, with occasional random paragraphs affected later on.

Questions:
How can I ensure consistent capitalization in translations?
Why are only certain paragraphs affected by this capitalization issue?

Hi,

thanks for contacting us.

Do you have some other examples to share? Possibly where the wrong capitalization happens in later paragraphs.

Hi,

I've been trying to find other examples (as all the previous ones have been manually corrected), but of course, this week all translations have been running smoothly for the most part, even in longer texts.

The issue with capitalization in the first paragraph does continue (hidden link).
Subtitles remain consistently over-capitalized in all articles.

Thanks!

I spoke with the developers, and they're aware of this issue. When you use the Translation Editor, WPML doesn't just copy the translation provided by the translation engine, but we also add stuff like capitalization etc.

For some reason, the system reads some paragraphs as titles, so it adds the capitalization. We're working on fixing it, but I'm afraid at this moment we don't have a workaround.
