[Closed] change default language of a product

after having changed the default language of our french site to english, I find the products are still functioning as if the english is the copy or translation of the french. meaning it is full of padlocks and I can not change the content. Is there a way to switch that. So the main language (ENG) is the product page that dictates what is on the translations pages in this case the french version.
