This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client is experiencing issues with the translation of a CF7 form that includes conditional fields, which were previously functioning correctly.
Solution:
We acknowledged that the plugin used for the conditional fields might not be officially compatible with WPML, which can lead to issues when updates occur on either side. We suggested reproducing the issue on a test site to further investigate. Meanwhile, the client managed to work around the problem by creating a separate contact form in German.

If this solution does not apply to your case, or if it seems outdated, we recommend checking the related known issues, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If issues persist, please open a new support ticket.

Hello,

I see you're using the Conditional Fields for Contact Form 7 plugin. At the moment, this plugin is not officially compatible from what I can see, so issues like this can occur.

I found a few similar reports in the past, and in those cases the issue was resolved by adding the following XML configuration and then retranslating the Contact Form 7 form.

Could you please try that and let me know if it helps? If the issue persists, I'll be happy to investigate further.

Go to WPML → Settings. On the Custom XML configuration tab past the below code then click on the Save button.

<wpml-config>
<shortcode-list>group</shortcode-list>
<custom-fields>
<custom-field action="copy">wpcf7cf_options</custom-field>
</custom-fields>
</wpml-config>

Make a small change to form and re-translate.

Let me know how it goes.

Regards,
Drazen

Hi there, that sadly did not help. What I don't get is why this was working before.

Hello,

I'm sorry to hear that didn't help.

It's possible that something changed in a recent version of the plugin. Since this plugin is not officially compatible with WPML, we don't actively test compatibility with it, so changes on either side can sometimes introduce issues.

I'd still be happy to take a look and see if I can identify what's going on.

Could you please reproduce the issue on a simple example on next test site I have prepared?

Hello,

Thanks for the update.

I'm glad you were able to work around the issue by creating a separate German contact form.

If you'd still like me to investigate the original issue, just let me know. If you're able to reproduce it on the test site I shared, I'll be happy to take a closer look and see if we can identify the root cause.

Drazen
