Hi,

Thank you for contacting WPML support.

You can connect only the pages that are not translated or not connected to other pages already.
Do your English pages fulfill these conditions ?

This also may help : https://wpml.org/faq/how-to-link-already-translated-pages/

Also, you are using an older version of WPML.
Please update it to the latest version: https://wpml.org/account/downloads/

Let me know how it goes.

Regards,
Riffaz.

Hi, can you tell me why plugins are not up to date? I do my updates regularly and the versions I have are not the same that you sent me. The automatic update notification doesn't work?

How can I update without downloading again as I don't need more issues

The connect to translation is visible on the French page to connect to the English. When you look at the attachment, you will see that there is only one choice in the dropdown. This is already an issue as there should be more than one.

Hi,

can you tell me why plugins are not up to date?
- you may missed some auto updates.
- there was a bug in displaying the auto update notifications.

the versions I have are not the same that you sent me
- you can check the latest versions here: https://wpml.org/account/downloads/

How can I update without downloading again as I don't need more issues
- go to dashboard > update and click on "check updates" : hidden link
- now go to plugins.
- you will see update notifications if there is any

you will see that there is only one choice in the dropdown. This is already an issue as there should be more than one.
- I think this is the only one page you did not try to translate.
- try to create a new test English page. just save. do not do anything else.
- go to a french french.
- click on connect translations.
- do you see your newly created English page on the dropdown list now?

Let me know.

Hi, I've checked for updates but it doesn't show any.

1.How can the auto update bug be resolved?

2. Right now, media version 2.4.2 Multilingual CMS 4.1.4 Translation management 2.7.3
string translation 2.9.2

3. When executing your procedure for a test page, it worked.

The test page work as I can see it and connect it but when I rename the page afterwards and save it, it's lost, which means that I have to name the page right away with the right name?

I created an English page with the right name, then I went to the French page equivalent to connect to translation but the link to do so was not there? It was on the English page that I just created with the result that when selecting connect to translation, I coudn't find the French page in this case to link with.

Hi,

1.How can the auto update bug be resolved?
- dashboard > updates and click on "check updates"
- you may have to do this a few time.

2. Right now, media version 2.4.2 Multilingual CMS 4.1.4 Translation management 2.7.3
string translation 2.9.2
- yes, these are out dated.
- you can check the latest versions here : https://wpml.org/account/downloads/

3. When executing your procedure for a test page, it worked.
- great.
- So I guess you've translated ot tried to translated your other pages before you connect them

which means that I have to name the page right away with the right name?
- nop, I do not think so.
- this is not the normal behavior
- or you connected it before renaming it.

May I ask why you are trying to 'connect' translation rather than create a page then just translate using the + sign?

Hi,

1. Even if I refresh the button of updates 20 times, I never see it in the dashboard

2.Before I was creating a page, then I was clicking on the pencil and could create the translation. Now, my issue is that I create new pages of the same content with a new builder, so once I have the original page in trash and the new one created, I expect to see the other page in the dropdown that I've created as well but it doesn't show. The + sign, unless I don't know how to use it is a nightmare of time to fill every fields, just don't understand why it existing at the first place.

Hi, find me a solution for the updates. For the translation pages as it will take too long to find out why nothing shows in the dropdown, the turnaround is to create a second French page with nothing, then connecting it from the existing English page and after I can reimport the content. If I would create another English page instead of French, it woudn't work. I don't know why

Hi,

Great it works now.

For the translation pages as it will take too long to find out why nothing shows in the dropdown,
- this depends on the contents on your site and the speed of your server.
- you can check this with your hosting company if you want.

So can we close this now?
