Hello,

Please verify that your server has the following IPs whitelisted

hidden link 74.50.57.24
hidden link 54.230.11.118
hidden link 52.200.8.253
hidden link 54.230.11.56

additionally if that does not resolve the issue you can ask your server/hosting support for assistance to install the latest CURL extension on your site.
Here is more info on this:

Please try this and let me know if it resolves the issue.

Hello,

as a test please try doing them manually this time if they are failing through the backend and let me know your results

https://wpml.org/account/downloads/

to do a manual update please follow these steps:

1. Backup your database – see for example: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-db-backup/

2. Deactivate the existing WPML plugin and add-ons.

3. Delete the plugin files – this does not delete your translations. You will simply delete the plugin files from you "wp-content/plugins" folder NOT the database records.

4. Download the updated plugins from our servers and upload them to the plugin directory.

5. Activate the WPML plugin and add-ons.
