Hello,

Welcome to the WPML support Forum 🙂

Before your ticket is assigned to one of my colleagues, please allow me to walk you through some initial debugging steps. This will help speed up the support process.

Can you explain the issue in details so we can help further, if possible include few screenshots so it will be easier to understand.

Thanks

Hello,

how can I translate the "select" "choice" fields, so that the other languages automatically recognize the "choice's" in it's own language?

Thank you

Hello there,

Thank you for contacting us. I'll be happy to assist you with this!

The solution stated in this similar case might help you: https://wpml.org/forums/topic/how-to-translate-customer-field-pro-select-choices/#post-2729221

Please follow these steps:

- First, go to WPML -> Settings -> Custom Fields Translations (you might need to click on 'Show system fields' link). If this custom field appears in the list then set it to 'Translate'
- Now, go to WPML -> Theme and plugins localization
- Select the correspondent plugin in the list and click on "Scan selected plugins for strings"
- Now go to WPML -> String Translation and search for the items you couldn't find to translate and see if they will display now

If that doesn't work, please try to enable the option "Look for strings while pages are rendered" in WPML -> String Translation. Then visit the pages in which the texts are located and go back to the String Translation, refresh the page, and check if you'll be able to locate the strings now. (Please don't forget to uncheck the option "Look for strings while pages are rendered" once you're done).

Another attempt is to search for the strings in the "Translate texts in admin screens" section of String Translation. To do that, please follow these instructions:

- Go to WPML -> String Translation and click on "Translate texts in admin screens" at the bottom of the page
- Search for the items you can't translate
- Select that strings and include them in the String Translation
- Go to WPML -> String Translation and search now for those items and see if they will display now for translation

Please try out these resolutions and let us know how you proceed with them. We're looking forward to your reply.

Best regards,
Mateus.

Hello Mateus,

I tried all the solutions you sent, but none worked. I still can't find the "choice" texts to get translated!

Can you help me with this problem, please?

Hello,

I would like to request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to your site to take a better look at the issue. You will find the needed fields for this below the comment area when you log in to leave your next reply. The information you will enter is private which means only you and I can see and have access to it.

Our Debugging Procedures

I will be checking various settings in the backend to see if the issue can be resolved. Although I won't be making changes that affect the live site, it is still good practice to backup the site before providing us access. In the event that we do need to debug the site further, I will duplicate the site and work in a separate, local development environment to avoid affecting the live site.

Privacy and Security Policy

We have strict policies regarding privacy and access to your information. Please see:
https://wpml.org/purchase/support-policy/privacy-and-security-when-providing-debug-information-for-support/

**IMPORTANT**

- Please make a backup of site files and database before providing us access.
- If you do not see the wp-admin/FTP fields this means your post & website login details will be made PUBLIC. DO NOT post your website details unless you see the required wp-admin/FTP fields. If you do not, please ask me to enable the private box. The private box looks like this: hidden link

Please, let me know if you need any additional details. Have a nice day.

Hello there,

Thank you for providing the credentials.

We could make the 'custom fields label choices' translatable after these steps:

- In WPML -> Settings -> Translation Editor, we choose 'Advanced Translation Editor' for the new translations
- Then, in "PROPERTIES", we opened the translations for 'Minha casa', for example, and the field was there to translate: hidden link

Now you have to open each translation with ATE and enter the translations for the selected field. Can you please check it and confirm that the issue is solved? Thanks!

Regards,
Mateus.

New Property" "WPML will copy...(todas as variáveis)... from English when you save this post."

  • hidden link

    • Esta é a página no idioma original, carega tudo bem.
  • hidden link

Vamos continuar a investigação no link acima. Obrigado pela sua compreensão.

    Cumprimentos,
    Mateus.

    Obrigado
